Meghan's father and photographer in photo scam

I think this is completely ironic.

The Royal family had asked the press to respect the Markle family's privacy, but now it appears Mr. Markle has been involved in staging some photographic scoops of his own, despite being described as a 'recluse'

The Mail on Sunday exposed the story yesterday.

Apparently the photographer and Markle set up some exclusive shoots which were then sold to press agencies around the world.

It quickly became apparent though that the pictures were 'too perfect' and obviously staged, but not before the photographer involved had received a considerable amount of money. The paper has said it is not known if Mr. Markle received any payment, but if not, why on earth would he participate in such a thing?

The Royal family must be cringing.

Doria Ragland (Meghan's mother) has not been in Oprah's show. She HAS been to Oprah's mansion (as DM previously reported) to discuss appearing on the show for a Q&A session AFTER returning from the wedding.
I read that she left the mansion loaded with gifts.
The fee she will be paid for the proposed appearance is $400,000 according to TMZ and the American Press.
Unsavoury, to say the very least.

Anniebach, when people use the term "the palace" they obviously mean one or other of the royals. Not just Buckingham Palace. We say "the palace" to indicate that it will be the staff actually arranging it - on behalf of the royals.

Anyway the fact is that no matter what circus the Markles want to create, they're not doing any harm to our royal family, it's all harmless and making money for them at no expense or harm to Meghan, Harry, or anyone else. Unsavory and undignified might be terms you can apply, or even "Vulgar" as Prince Philip might say, but at the end of the day it's just a harmless fiasco.

Cant believe anyone takes any of The Mail articles seriously!. The R F havnt done much to help Mr Markle to be prepared for the invasion of his privacy . I have always liked Harry but on this occasion I feel it’s really quite unforgivable of him not to have met her father before now and helped to prepare him. Also Harrys regard to the press is a bit hypocritical too as they need to press to keep the Royal family going. Still shows the gutter press is alive and kicking in this country because of the voracity of the public desire for news of the royal family or rants about immigrants or whatever ,and it also shows that the palace still hasn’t got its act together again on how to handle these sort of things despite paying over £40 million a year on advisors! And no Im not a republican.

Gretna Green must seem a very tempting prospect for the two of them at the moment!!

Quote But he's American ? So what ?.He doesn't understand how it all works with royalty.
How would you know what the guy understands?
Regardless of what nationality one choses to marry is it not usual to 'meet the parents' As far as Harry was concerned he had only met his future wife's mother. Why not the father .? If has been alleged the family were dysfunctional then he was not marrying the family but a member of that family.Meghan finally decided on a wedding where the bride would be walked up the aisle by her father Not as initially believed was to be by her mother. What attempts were made to introduce Harry to her father? If as, you claim, Americans don't understand how our royalty works I question 'what has this to do with meeting ones future father in law isn't this a matter of respect what ever ones background.?
Look how long before Kate and William married.
I am not suggesting Harry and Megan go along that path.
However they only have themselves to blame if things are now, through their own doing, beginning to appear as we might observe happening in one of Meghan's TV series.

I couldn't agree more sun seeker. Do and try and say as you would be done and talked about. There are some posts here that as you say, leave a bad taste. What kind of influences lead to some people being delighted as the prospect of a young couple and their families going through this kind of stress a few days before their wedding.
I don't expect H and Megan had any choice - they couldn't just nip off and get quietly married in a Church, Register office or beach. It's part of the RF's public service to provide a spectacle, the majority of the population seem to enjoy it.

There a delicious British irony in all of this. Those who express most distate, dislike and wish to be rid of the RF seem to be spending a lot of time keeping up with the Windsors

Excited? Jalima Really? Sick of bloomin' well hearing about it is more like it !

paddyann Wed 16-May-18 12:56:15

Gabrielleg haven't members of the RF sold their time for favours ..I'm sure Andrew and fergie at least were involved in scams and wasn't "Princess Michael" involved in dodgy stuff too..and by the way ..the RF get paid every day to put themselves out there so whats the difference in the Markles doing it?

ReadyMeals Wed 16-May-18 12:57:57

I know I certainly am getting excited! Me and my best mate from schooldays are having a two-woman party complete with Key Lime Pie which is a tradition for me with royal weddings (being as it's american and all that - so don't ask me why)

gillybob Wed 16-May-18 12:58:40

No difference at all paddyann they all court the media for their own benefits, so they can hardly call Mr M for doing the same.

Anniebach Wed 16-May-18 12:58:44

I agree Sarah,

JenniferEccles Wed 16-May-18 13:00:54

The thing to remember in all this 'fiasco 'debacle', whatever you like to call it, is the fact that we actually know practically NOTHING .

Harry and royal aides may well have tried to be a help and support to the father only to be turned down.

Harry may have offered to go himself to meet Mr. Markle
around the time of the engagement, only to be turned down.

I'm not trying to defend the royals, or aides at all, as on the face of it, it does seem so bad that he has been left to his own devices as it were, but as he has been described many times as reclusive, maybe that's just what he wanted.

In view of Harry's 'family she never had' comment, maybe he knows quite well what a nightmare family they are (from Meghan?) so decided to leave them be.

After the father's dreadful photo scam stunt, perhaps that was wise.

Yet, with respect gillybob you appear to be posting a lot on the various threads about the wedding, so how fed up are you?

No, I am not trying to dictate which threads you post on - nothing to do with me, just seems odd that if you are sick of hearing about it you seem to be perpetuating the attention.

ReadyMeals Wed 16-May-18 13:10:58

Lol Sunseeker the case of the disinterested person being very interested in communicating their disinterest. It's a well-known internet syndrome. I bet we've all done it some time or other too :D

varian Wed 16-May-18 13:13:41

Or even an uninterested person communicating their lack of interest .

Jalima1108 Wed 16-May-18 13:18:50

You can be excited in different ways gillybob

"A lot of various threads" sunseeker , really?

I think you need to review this comment. I don't recall commenting on the royal wedding on any other threads but this one.

I’ve stopped watching EastEnders. I’m now glued to the new updated Coronation Street in the Mail on Line & everywhere. What a fiasco! The Royal family is taking its dying breaths.

lemongrove Wed 16-May-18 13:22:28

Am lost for words at what I am reading ......
I mean, key lime pie!! It’s vile!
grin
Readymeals I implore you, change your mind, have a nice ginger pud with custard or jam roly poly.

Yawn....

W1chhada Wed 16-May-18 13:27:26

The Daily Mail et al have an unspoken agenda to disparage Markle, for reasons of nationality, ethnicity and work ethic.
Any weakness is fair game. As for the Duke of Edinburgh- a bigot of the worst sort, not a quaint lovable character.

sunseeker Wed 16-May-18 13:28:34

Apologies gillybob I got you confused with someone else - however it appears you have posted on this thread 11 times (I know how sad that I have counted!)
