What irritates you?

I struggle with ‘passed’ as in ‘died’. I don’t object to ‘passed away’ but on being told that someone ‘passed’, my mind always tries to add a place name or ‘a kidney stone’ or suchlike. Irritated by my own overactive imagination, I suppose!

I agree with most of the comments and another one is I'm bored "of" this instead of bored with.

Runners on the pavement startling me as they overtake.
Dog walkers with no control.

Yes Polly, dropping ‘t’ really annoys me too. The other thing like that really like annoys me is, like people using the word like every few like words.

This bloody government and bloody Brexit. Sick of it

People who are bored, and decide it's really essential to phone someone while they are stood in a long queue in the post office or the bank. Everyone else queuing is then a captive audience to their "loud important"call. Sometimes they are still on the phone when it's their turn and are too rude and ignorant to end it, causing a "three way transaction" between themselves, the cashier and the person at the other end of the phone. I really wish there was a sign in these places saying No Mobile Use While Queuing or better still refuse to serve them until they remember some manners.

I get annoyed when staff in restaurants or bars handle the rims of cups and glasses. Even more annoyed with drivers who don't signal a turn until they are actually rounding the corner, and even angrier when they don't signal at all!

Have just started reading this read. Got as far as Chewbacca's workmate saying "nom nom nom" every day before tucking into her lunch. That would drive me to distraction.

It's a bit mean and unmaternal I know but pregnant women who constantly cradle their "bump" drive me mad.

People who get on the bus and then start looking for their oyster/pass. But I love hearing people talking on their phones because I am nosy and find people's lives interesting.

People who talk in cinemas, people who say "I was like" all the time, neighbours like mine who have horrible water features, people who put their feet on train seats, loud music, hot air hand dryers that pierce my eardrums, bikes on pavements...…….lots really ! Thanks for the chance to vent.

I’m sick, sore and weary of ‘my little man’ and ‘my little princess’. Even worse, the latest trend I’ve come across is to refer to one’s child as ‘my little’ or ‘my small’ ?. Your little what? Finger? Toe? Your small brain?

People who say " stood " in a long queue, instead of "standing" in a long queue!

All the above plus, "hubby". Makes me want to vomit. My last boss used to talk endlessly about hers. I am a very irritable old woman.

No nannypiano, you're not. Quite why so many young women have such a gravelly, deep voice these days is a mystery, and I wonder if they're perhaps smoking 40 cigarettes a day to effect such a result. Either way... it's annoying.

I have to say I'm getting pretty irritated at seeing, every time there is a thread like this, people complaining of the 'would of/would have' mixup, and the 'so at the beginning of a sentence'.
God I am so bored of with these two constant gripes!

're feet on train seats: I too found this very irritating but I found that, with advancing years, I seem to have aquired a "death stare". The last time I was on a train I was opposite a young man who had his feet propped up on the empty seat next to me, I found that by just glaring intently between him and his feet, and saying not a word; he slowly put his feet on the floor. I'll try it on the "nom nom nom" colleague on Monday and report back.

Women's gravelly voices? Sorry, but it's the high pitched ones that irritate me!
