The trend seems to be to have hairless ladies bits, och
No easy way to achieve this except for when we become Gnetters, when they seem to disappear at a rate of knots?
On a serious note I hear a lot of young woman saying their ‘man’ likes it, which I find a bit troubling, ok if the ladies do it for their own reasons , but is their a unsavoury aspect to this particular fashion?

Jennil23, cultural / religious/ misogynist, reasons maybe in Egypt?
Definitely a porn influence in western society.. Well documented & worrying for our daughters & granddaughters..

I dislike totally shaven ‘bits’, so uncomfortable!
My only efforts in that area have been a good trim with a scissors to avoid tuftiness when wearing a swimsuit!

RosieLeah Thu 28-Feb-19 13:56:16

Oh Gabriella, you are so right. I do wonder how this has all come about. Is it because of the 'Neo-liberalism'...where it seems, there are no boundaries to decency, or the lack thereof. I was a virgin when I married and have only ever had sex with my husband. This was the norm when I was young, but now I'm made to feel as though there is something abnormal about me. These days, the emphasis is on sex first, not emotion. It doesn't seem to matter how you feel about someone so long as they satisfy you sexually. Have people really become so shallow and superficial?

'Back sac and crack' I believe ?
(A man shaving his bits).

Urmstongran Thu 28-Feb-19 12:56:19

Sorry to bedim GG54ut whacks a BS&C
I thought ‘Bath, shower & ... then couldn’t think of a ‘C’’

b1zzle Thu 28-Feb-19 12:39:57

As agnurse said, all hair's there for a reason!

GabriellaG54 Thu 28-Feb-19 12:16:15

There are definitely no more boundaries, no more modesty, no outer reaches which haven't been breached.
We have surely gone as far down the path of depravity as it is possible to go.

Milly, I think you mean Naked Attraction. The participants choose a date from the naked people they have seen. I don't think the choice is permanent, it is just a meal or drink out.

GabriellaG54 Thu 28-Feb-19 12:06:12

In my online dating days a few years ago on a paid site, men would often make a few cursory remarks about this and that before asking what I looked for in a man.
It was all documented in my profile but nonetheless it was a precursor to them telling me the kind of woman they wanted to meet.
Not a million hours later I would be asked if I had any private photos and did I have a Brazilian or Hollywood wax. Did I wear heels and suspenders...blah blah.
No matter how nice they, at first, seemed online, it often descended into expecting sex on a first date.
Funny, how men 'demand that of women but women don't expect more than that a man is 'tidy'.
I sometimes suggested that they treat themselves to a BS&C before leaning on women to revert to looking like juveniles.
Men often forget to look in the mirror when they place unreasonable expectations on women as far as clothes, boobs, bums and waxing go.

HootyMcOwlface Thu 28-Feb-19 12:02:11

Oh Rufus you do make me laugh! ?

Milly Thu 28-Feb-19 11:53:10

Yes Dragon fly I was thinking that too ,!! But now I understand why one of the snippets on Gogglebox showed women shaved down there. I could hardly believe such things were allowed on TV but apparently there is a program where people choose their partner by looking at " down there " !!!!!!

Theoddbird Thu 28-Feb-19 11:17:14

I saw an article on a news program last year about the return of hairiness including armpits....

Aepgirl Thu 28-Feb-19 11:10:02

So glad this has been brought up. It has bothered me for some time. Now I shall just continue to trim as necessary when wearing a swimsuit. Certainly no porn for me!

Annaram1 Thu 28-Feb-19 11:09:46

Haven't any of you watched "Naked Attraction "? All the women and many of the men have hairless bits, or even heart shaped bits of hair. Some of the men admit to shaving their chests and underarms. I do not like men to have a completely naked chest, but neither do I like them very hairy. In between is OK. I am shocked at the participants though, Some of the girls are under 20 and freely admit to having had sex a lot of times. I didn't even know what sex was until I was about 20. How times change.

123coco Thu 28-Feb-19 10:52:56

I’ve just started using my lady shaver down there and am thinking why have I waited so long! Not for anyone else. ,just me. Feel it more hygiene now .

MissAdventure Thu 28-Feb-19 10:40:29

I think its certainly down to unrealistic expectations.

A while back I watched 'Embarrassing Bodies', where they showed a group of teen boys, and then girls, pictures of normal bodies.
The boys (having all said they liked large breasts) were shocked at what normal large breasts look like, beneath push-up bras and clothing, and the girls had little idea of 'normal' either.

lizzypopbottle Thu 28-Feb-19 10:35:42

I read recently about a man who watched so much porn that he couldn't 'get going' without it and that affected his relationship with his partner, who, I assume, didn't resemble the ladies in the porn videos. The cure, recommended by the GP, was to lay off watching it, not for their partner to start shaving. It worked.

jenni123 Thu 28-Feb-19 10:13:02

Not always due to porn, I lived in Egypt for 13 years and there it is expected that a woman shaves, they consider it 'dirty' to have pubic hair. No I do not know why but it is certainly not due to porn.

Laura Dodsworth has been taking photos of vulvas if anyone's interested. Lots if articles about it:
www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2019/feb/19/100-vaginas-review-an-extraordinary-and-empowering-spread-of-the-legs-laura-dodsworth
Previously she did the same thing but about breasts.

Who has time to shave? Unattractive whiskers maybe, but anywhere else?

I also can remember getting shaved during labour which along with an enema, was one of the nastier experiences of my life. I felt punished.
The next baby, 2 years later, customs had miraculously changed so I had neither.

B9exchange Wed 27-Feb-19 22:24:49

At a conference in Amsterdam I was flicking through the TV channels and came across one of 'those' programmes. Couldn't believe it they were all completely hairless absolutely everywhere below the neck. And size wise so well endowed as to be positively deformed!

sroge Wed 27-Feb-19 22:12:46

Men don't seem to have hairy chests these day either. Don't get that personally - why shave off something that makes them look masculine? Think the overall trend is for any body hair to be shaved off!

Rufus2 Tue 26-Feb-19 10:32:05

A lot of guys trim very closely because it makes the total length look longer
Muffinthemoo: How many guys have you hob-knobbed with then? Never trimmed so I can't confirm your observations. grin
Actually this thread came up at an opportune moment ; I was talking to a chap recently who had replied to a job advert asking for interested persons to apply for jobs as "meticulous groomers" to work for a modelling agency. He had a successful interview and the interviewer said, your in, and here's your rail pass to Ballarat. ( a small country town about 80k North of Melb.) The chap asked "why do I have to go to ***Ballarat"? The reply was "that's the end of the queue!"

Remember Victor Meldrew in hospital for a procedure when a "Nutter" enters his room, wearing a white doctor's coat and carrying a cut-throat razor? He then proceeds to shave Victor's "nether region", carefully moving Vic's appendage from side to side as he shaved. It was a scream, beautifully acted and even had me squirming in my chair. Needless to say, two other gents in white coats came and removed the "Nutter". They don't write comedy like that anymore! sad

Sophiesox Mon 25-Feb-19 21:19:23

I’ve read that a backlash against this trend has been started by a lot of young women (not before time!)

MissAdventure Mon 25-Feb-19 21:13:51

I'm all for the natural look, everywhere.
Shaved bits always get ingrown hairs and pimples, from what I've seen.
Well, not 'seen' as such, but articles and videos about hair removal.
