Am I missing something? how can a deal only be acceptable if TM resigns ?
Or is it just bad wording , bribery etc etc.
EITHER a deal is suitable or it isn’t
Please help me understand ?

T.M. Has bent over backwards to leave even tho she firmly believes that it is bad for the country....the problem is her party has too much secret niggling and someone always think they could do better...for T.M peace of mind and her health then I think she should say well you do it then..that’s what Cameron did...and he’s looking good now. As is Blair...
Look after yourself now T...
As for votes. They are not worth the paper they are written on...We should not have had a vote on go or stay...We put a government in and they should be allowed to govern to the best of their ability...at the next vote the leavers should vote them out...and even that is now in peril ...we vote for a certain mp in our constituency only to find that they have changed their support...what about my support. If I vote conservative or labour or god forbid independents then that’s who I want ...if they don’t like the party then we should have an immediate vote to put someone else in their place ....and I believe the mps that have left the government should be ashamed of themselves and suspended immediately

Chattykathy you could 'install a hard brexiteer' but as the EU will not accept further changes, what difference will that make?

chattykathy Thu 28-Mar-19 12:37:03

This has been the ERG's plan all along. Push her to resign and then install a hard brexiteer. Heaven help us all!

It's a chart of how the votes went yesterday Sparklefizz. Click on it and you'll see.

Sparklefizz Thu 28-Mar-19 12:29:18

What on earth is that long link above?

Nonnie Thu 28-Mar-19 11:45:51

Urmston is that your opinion or have they said as much? If that is so they are a pretty weak bunch but then so seem to be most of them. Yesterday was a debacle as clearly the Tories were doing just what TM told them to. No backbone at all

I beg to disagree Nonnie as I think DD, BJ and Raab all resigned because TM listed to Olly Robbins (a Remainer like herself) rather than a Brexiteer ‘Brexit’ minister. She wanted to negotiate the softest Brexit deal that she thought would pass muster. Shocking really.

Which is why we are where we are.
☹️

gillybob Thu 28-Mar-19 10:54:11

Because they are all a load of snakes hissing around in their nasty little snake pit , otherwise known at The House of Commons.

Back stabbers, hypocrites and wannabe's !

Sparklefizz Thu 28-Mar-19 10:46:59

Cue for a song:
"Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right,
Here I am ... stuck in the middle with you."

Nonnie Thu 28-Mar-19 10:36:59

I think she has made another misjudgement and hope she falls flat on her face.

Please remember that some of those well known Leave MPs were on the negotiating team but resigned. Imo they did so because they would look stupid not being able to negotiate what they promised.

As I have said on another thread I would like TM to leave today and put one of the ERG in place and then we will all know just how false their promises were.

Gonegirl Thu 28-Mar-19 09:38:05

Maybe the natives are becoming less friendly?

Urmstongran Thu 28-Mar-19 09:35:09

In what way are you feeling any backlash sodapop as an ex pat? Nothing has changed (yet).

Gonegirl Thu 28-Mar-19 09:24:55

I think it's simply a bribe. She knows they want to get rid of her. She wants her deal through. This is the only way she can get it through. They can't force her out any other way because they've already had the vote of no confidence which means she stays in for another year.

She is making a sacrifice.

sodapop Thu 28-Mar-19 09:08:00

I agree with Sparklefizz and GrannyIris ship them out. It's a worrying time for us expats as well, we are already feeling a bit of the backlash.

GrannyIris5 Thu 28-Mar-19 08:29:15

Sparklefizz I totally agree, we could make a list and add some other ‘waste of space’ persons to sail away with them.
One of the biggest messes is this thing about the International Driving Permit, no body understands it and no p o near me has it. Not that I need one at the moment.

Sparklefizz Thu 28-Mar-19 08:23:55

to ship not "the ship"

Sparklefizz Thu 28-Mar-19 08:22:24

I would like the ship the lot of 'em off to a desert island, and start from scratch with some new people with integrity instead of this bunch of hypocrites and virtue signallers.

Telly Wed 27-Mar-19 23:02:17

I think that it acceptable if the wannabes get a crack at the whip a bit sooner. It's clearly designed to let them demonstrate how they are just concerned about their own advancement, they couldn't care less about the wider implications of their actions as they are so cocooned.

GrandmaMoira Wed 27-Mar-19 21:35:07

Day 6 - How have Remainer MPs forced us into a corner? It is the ERG and Leave MPs who are still not happy even though we are leaving and they will not vote for the deal on offer. Remainers are understandably unhappy as they lost and believe leaving is bad for the country, but are more willing to compromise and accept the deal.

Nandalot Wed 27-Mar-19 20:41:44

Anyone who votes for it now and didn’t before is just playing party politics and positioning for power. Absolutely disgusting if anyone is swayed by this.

crystaltipps Wed 27-Mar-19 20:38:55

I’m not sure why day6 continues to blame remainer MPs for May’s failure- why have the ERG and DUP not supported her? Shouldn’t they take some of the blame?

Fennel Wed 27-Mar-19 20:10:18

"It's simply yet another hypocritical and devious ploy."
I agree mcem.
Or a total disregard of the views and legalities of the H of C.

Jalima1108 Wed 27-Mar-19 20:00:12

Am I missing something
I am missing something too.

If she's good enough to broker a deal for which they will vote, why is she not good enough to continue as PM?

confused

mcem Wed 27-Mar-19 19:55:50

It's simply yet another hypocritical and devious ploy.
Once again, totally illogical and with no reasonable or honest justification!
Fallen on her sword or stabbed in the back?

Fennel Wed 27-Mar-19 19:51:08

ps I've just seen that Bercow has said today there must be a change in the deal itself for another vote to take place.
