The Sussexes & Hypocrisy

Prince Harry said earlier in the week that social media is as addictive for kids as drugs and alcohol. They can be bullied and become anxious and depressed.

Instagram seems to be the worst apparently, although he didn't mention that by name.

However, AIBU to expect Harry and Meghan with all their virtue-signalling, to be less hypocritical? The Sussexes have just set up an Instagram account and already have over 3 million followers apparently !!! Is this not blatant hypocrisy?

Before this, Harry's topic was a climate change lecture to young people while he and Meghan zipped about in private jets for her baby shower and his trip back for Valentine's Day.

I have always been very fond of Harry but since he has become New Agey and got on various soapboxes, they both have had a marvellous chance to practise what they preach..... but are not doing it.

I'm disappointed in him.

People wrapped in the Union Flag, they don’t have a problem with flag waving people at other times,

His mother was photographed leaving the hospital as was his sister in law, the press and crowds don’t invade the labour ward

Thinking of them , Diana and Kate had tummies ! Perhaps Megan wants her figure back before appearing in public, she certaintly isn’t camera shy, enjoyed walking down the aisle on her own

The more I read about this woman's demands the more infuriated with her I become.

She has chosen to marry into the British royal family which of course means that she cannot call the shots as regards total privacy.

Surely she understands that by now?

It said on the news today that the notice will still be posted at Buckingham Palace.

I can totally understand why The Duchess of Sussex does not want to be photographed with her newborn hours after the birth..........I certainly wouldn't like it, would any of you?

I also totally understand why they are not publicising where she is giving birth, who on here would like to be in labour knowing the worlds press were camped outside along with "hoards of strangers wrapped in The Union Flag"?

This child is only seventh in line to the throne, so realistically they will never be King/Queen.

Both the Princes saw what happened to their Mother.

The Duchess of Cambridge probably had no choice in where she gave birth as her first born will be King one day.

I sincerely hope that neither the Duke or Duchess ever get to see this thread, as it is not very nice!!!

Yes we did learn from ‘the Diana Days’ don’t use the press ,
don’t try to set up your own court’ don’t do the celeb circuit,
don’t think you are more important than the monarch ,

What seems to be forgotten is this couple are employed , if they want to do their own thing then opt out of the job

My elder granddaughter works for a law firm, if she turned up for work in shorts and a boob tube she would be out the door.

Right wrong or just different

Jane10 Fri 12-Apr-19 11:32:08

Kate and William get it right. Meghan and Harry don't.

Bridgeit Fri 12-Apr-19 11:04:42

Ohh, don’t forget we are Grannies, I cannot imagine that none of us has looked at our own kids & thought hmm I don’t think I would have worn that, behaved in that manner etc etc. Each generation is different. Did we learn nothing from the Diana days ?

Bridgeit Fri 12-Apr-19 10:48:15

Good job this is Gn, if younger people were reading this I think they would be ashamed of the bitchy comments being posted by some of us oldies .( definitely old enough to know better )
Perhaps you should just stop watching & reading about them.

Gilly. ?

merlotgran Fri 12-Apr-19 08:54:16

A pixelated face on the Buck House balcony? grin

gillybob Fri 12-Apr-19 08:37:54

I can imagine Hello and OK bidding for the exclusive pictures. “And here we have the Clooneys delivering a giant Teddy Bear , here’s Oprah with balloons, the Beckhams with a replica Ferrari ....” grin

gillybob Fri 12-Apr-19 08:35:30

Of course there will be a full public unveiling eazybee ( but not before the Clooneys have visited ) they are “celebrities” after all.

Prince Harry has lived all of his life in the glare of publicity . in large part engendered by his tragically silly mother's pursuit of it.

His wife, I think, just Desperately Desires to be Different.

Some people are actually mildly interested in the forthcoming birth, as in: the child has been safely delivered; its sex, weight, name and a picture of a snub nose wrapped in a blanket. Then we get on with our lives and forget all about it.
I do hope there isn't going to be an Hello magazine style picture spread of the newborn baby, 'after a period of recovery.'

Anniebach Thu 11-Apr-19 22:52:32

Headlines tomorrow ‘ Megan will not parade baby’

Slap on the wrist for Kate

merlotgran Thu 11-Apr-19 22:16:57

We mustn't underestimate the people who camp out for nights on end, draped in flags and wearing Union Jack hats.

Meghan should watch a few episodes of Dad's Army whilst keeping an eye on any tree that seems to be moving.

Anniebach Thu 11-Apr-19 22:06:34

Bridgeit you don’t live in this country ? People camp on pavements outside the hospital.

Citizens not subjects

Bridgeit Thu 11-Apr-19 20:59:58

Perhaps not ‘idiots’

maryeliza54 Thu 11-Apr-19 20:54:51

They are being pathetic - if it’s to be born at home, they are not exactly going to be besieged are they? We’ll be footing the bill ( already are) for all their security. They are sounding more and more like the entitled priveleged narcissitc self absorbed idiots they are.

Bridgeit Thu 11-Apr-19 20:51:48

Perhaps the midwife has been stowed away until needed.......... perhaps this could be the story line for a new Fairytale

merlotgran Thu 11-Apr-19 20:47:26

How on earth are they going to keep it a secret? Somebody will give the game away.

Are the midwives etc., going to arrive cowering under a blanket?

Is the birthing pool already in situ?

Will Doria arrive disguised as the gardener?

Has she already had it?

Bridgeit Thu 11-Apr-19 20:39:50

Subject’s

Bridgeit Thu 11-Apr-19 20:39:09

Do the Queen’s subject still await news of aRoyal birth??

Anniebach Thu 11-Apr-19 20:32:43

It’s sure way to get more attention .

And living in Frogmore is certaintly not doing the opposite to what’s been done in the past, nor is having titles .

Sparklefizz Thu 11-Apr-19 20:03:51

What doesn't make sense is that now they want privacy over the baby yet only last week they opened Instagram and other media accounts. They can't have it both ways.

Sparklefizz Thu 11-Apr-19 19:09:16

I think it's just Meghan always wanting to buck the system and do things her way and exactly the opposite to whatever has been done in the past.
