I’m disgusted with these newly elected MEPs! Turning their backs when the EU anthem is played. This is appalling and they should be suspended indefinitely.
I’m ashamed of a nation that can do this. BTW it was reported in the Independent.

It would have helped their cause a lot more to have been dignified and focused on debating the issues. This kind of behaviour made them look like a group of rebellious teenagers, not a group of serious politicians.

I agree with you GillT57 and good point Oldwoman70. Let's all enjoy what's left of today and respect each other. We all have different points of view. It's just a sorry state of affairs because the Mp's and Government have made a pigs ear of Brexit full stop.

Mind you I think that the most the Lib Dem’s can be accused of is bad taste. They will go and serve as enthusiastic MEPs earning their salary.

The BP stand accused of profound disrespect and hypocrisy. They will trouser their salary through fraudulent means by not contributing anything positive, indeed anything at all.

I don’t think that the two can be compared tbh

POGS Tue 02-Jul-19 15:20:24

For goodness sake any MEP who displayed such crass, puerile behaviour is disgraceful.

Whether they are Left/right of politics, Remain/Leave voter matters not a jot, they showed disrespect to the 27 nations in the EU and to the UK population.

GillT57 Tue 02-Jul-19 15:15:02

Truly disgusting behaviour on the part of the LibDems and Brexit Ltd. I am ashamed to be British sometimes, and this is one of those times.

JonesKpj000 Tue 02-Jul-19 15:13:23

Yes BlueBelle, I did state in my post that it was rude behaviour whichever side of the argument people are on.

JonesKpj000 Tue 02-Jul-19 15:08:11

No, in reply to Whitewavemark2, The Brexit Party is a political party and as far as what charity Richard Tice is donating to, it is not going to be one particular charity, but numerous small specialist UK charities. He has asked for suggestions on Twitter and the theme for his first net monthly salary I believe, is expected to benefit ex-offenders into work. If you are interested, you will find plenty of information regarding this online. Have a good day everyone.

BlueBelle Tue 02-Jul-19 14:45:00

Mention away Jones it does not in the least bit excuse this dreadful behaviour

Whitewavemark2 Tue 02-Jul-19 14:44:40

I stand corrected. It is a charity helping offenders back to work.

JonesKpj000 Tue 02-Jul-19 14:43:07

I'm also not ashamed of voting for democracy. People should respect the democratic vote.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 02-Jul-19 14:41:49

Wonder what charity? Is the BP set up as a charity I wonder?

JonesKpj000 Tue 02-Jul-19 14:39:53

Contrary to some of the comments on here, it was announced several weeks ago that the Chairman of the Brexit Party, Richard Tice is donating his entire MEP salary to charity. Just thought i'd mention it.

BlueBelle Tue 02-Jul-19 14:37:05

Shame on the brexit party I m ashamed of my country and I m ashamed of anyone who supports this rude disrespectful show it’s hideous
How can we have a party that is totally out of control can’t they be brought to line for bringing the country into disrepute
Not in my name for sure I don’t care what side you’re on this is intolerable and out of order to the enth degree

Oldwoman70 Tue 02-Jul-19 14:34:47

I note no-one has commented on the fact that MEP's from other countries, refused to stand and carried on their conversations

Labaik Tue 02-Jul-19 14:32:50

Somehow think that turning your back is more insulting than wearing a bollox to Brexit t shirt....

JonesKpj000 Tue 02-Jul-19 14:28:12

I'm a leaver. But, regardless of that, They were Lib Dem remainers and BP leavers. So come on Remainers let's have less of the biased attitude. It was rude of all our MEP's full stop whichever side of the argument you are on.

Labaik Tue 02-Jul-19 14:28:07

I've only just heard this on the news. I am so embarrassed/ashamed for my country...sad .

eazybee Tue 02-Jul-19 14:20:33

Shameful, Brexit Party and Lib Dems.
I wonder what all those idiots who try and wave the EU flag in television interviews outside the Houses of Parliament are doing now. Haven't seen them lately.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 02-Jul-19 13:29:46

We are paying these and the BP!!

GrannyGravy13 Tue 02-Jul-19 13:24:51

EllanVannin absolutely one enormous doggie dinner followed by a pile of doggie doo doo!!!!

EllanVannin Tue 02-Jul-19 13:15:06

Yeah----freedom of speech to a point !!
I'm no militant thank God and don't give a rat's ass what sort of a mess these politicians make. Give them all enough rope-----

It'll all end up a dogs dinner whatever happens.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 02-Jul-19 13:06:14

That picture juxtaposed with the Nazis is flying around the world.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 02-Jul-19 12:55:33

ayse I totally agree with your post.

ayse Tue 02-Jul-19 12:53:38

Any public representative who behaves in this reprehensible manner should be disciplined. It is all so vindictive.

How are our grandchildren going to have any respect for anyone in public office?

I’m not turning this into a people bashing debate whether they were pro or anti Brexit. It is the example they are setting that is disgusting.

Let’s not prove Putin and Trump right in saying liberal democracy is dead. That way lies disaster for all of us who love freedom of speech!

GrannyGravy13 Tue 02-Jul-19 12:52:39

Apologies I have just read my previous post it should have read “those who voted leave are liars”

EllanVannin you may not have called leavers liars but sadly it has happened all to frequently on GN, twitter and in many media interviews.

I think the whole situation has just escalated to the point of no return.

If there was to be another referendum I would not cast my vote. As I do not think there is a solution to this mess that would suit anyone.

Our MPs / MEPs are just beyond awful.

It is just one sorry mess!!
