It has come to light that Decades ago apparently he groped the leg of a female, If true should he taken to task about now.?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 30-Sep-19 16:21:18

It isn’t about a single incident, but it is certainly building a picture of an utter sleaze bag.

No one can defend his actions with any integrity.

Bridgeit Mon 30-Sep-19 16:30:35

You ask why does he think it’s ok to behave this way,
Well it’s who he is isn’t it ,the sum of his parts (?) And his parts seem to have swopped with his Brain !

Daisymae Mon 30-Sep-19 16:33:27

Things have changed in the last couple of decades. This allegation is possibly part of a pattern of behaviour. Why now? Why not?

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 16:34:41

That plus inbred entitlement - the unshakable belief that he has the right to treat others as he so wishes without fear of consequence.

Bridgeit Mon 30-Sep-19 16:35:28

Sadly there are many many more of the same ilk

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 16:43:18

Absolutely, and in powerful positions too (although not as powerful as PM of the UK)

Bridgeit Mon 30-Sep-19 16:45:14

And believe me they come from all walks of life!!

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 16:46:25

Yes - you’re right

Bridgeit Mon 30-Sep-19 16:49:03

Being powerful just gives them more ways of hiding it, disguising it , downplaying it etc etc,
Woman have known this for years & years ,thankfully decent men are now realising & speaking out against it.

EllanVannin Mon 30-Sep-19 19:06:13

If it happened at all it was 20 years ago ! Why didn't the woman complain then ?

Kandinsky Mon 30-Sep-19 19:08:27

Exactly.

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 19:13:25

Why did the man grope a woman who didn’t want to be groped twenty years ago?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 30-Sep-19 19:16:53

Blaming the victim is not particularly clever is it?

Jane10 Mon 30-Sep-19 19:35:51

None of its particularly clever it's just interesting that it suddenly been resurrected at this moment. Not impressed

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 19:37:16

No - his behaviour isn’t impressive at all.

Jane10 Mon 30-Sep-19 19:39:04

Neither is the 'journalist'!

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 19:41:06

Let’s direct our attention at the perpetrator, not the victim.

Oopsminty Mon 30-Sep-19 19:42:09

You don't actually know if this even happened. Or were you there?

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 19:51:47

I don’t need to be at the groping of women to believe them. Do you feel the need to witness a man behaving that way before you believe women?

Iam64 Mon 30-Sep-19 19:53:47

SirChenjin, many thanks for your input here. Also others who point out the question has to be about Johnson’s alleged behaviour, not questioning the woman reporting her experience.
The idea of female journalist would expose herself to the kind of sneering, dismissal of her experience as some kind of atttempt to stop Brexit should be laughable. Currently, it seems we can be expected to accept the unacceptablebon so many levels from our PM

Whitewavemark2 Mon 30-Sep-19 20:01:35

We have just had a couple of years discussing these issues and I rather hoped that we had finally moved on where the victim was listened to and given the benefit of the doubt.

The “me to” movement started about 10 years ago had finally caught the public imagination. So it is hoped the empowerment with empathy would encourage women of all ages to speak up.

It clearly hasn’t reached all the parts yet.

Jane10 Mon 30-Sep-19 20:02:44

Acceptable or not its quite remarkable that the only gropee of Boris's that could be dredged up had her knee squeezed 20 years ago.

SirChenjin Mon 30-Sep-19 20:08:18

Not remarkable at all, given his general behaviour around women.

And it’s not acceptable - there’s no ifs or buts.

Oopsminty Mon 30-Sep-19 20:09:26

SirChengin. So you always believe the woman? That's very frightening.

Let's hope no man in your life gets accused of something.

It does happen.

Urmstongran Mon 30-Sep-19 20:10:08

Quite right oopsminty You don't actually know if this even happened. Or were you there?

It was 20 years ago! I don’t think any court of law would want to pass comment now.

It’s one word against another.

Trial by media? I noticed the rhetoric has been ratcheted up slightly on tv this evening. Now it’s her ‘inner thigh’ that was groped.
