Just been announced that PC has been diagnosed with Coronavirus,
AIBU to hope he will receive some empathy from the general public.

Boz That was 13 days ago - if they had caught it from him, they would have it by now. We'd have heard.

How ridiculous to suggest he has no concern for his father’s illness. Loads of people live in different countries to their parents.

MissAdventure Wed 25-Mar-20 14:41:24

grin Annie

If Harry has concerns for his father he wouldn’t have left the country and his royal duties to fall on his father and brother.

Perhaps Megan will write on a banana and have a jet fly it to
Charles

Boz Wed 25-Mar-20 14:33:56

What is more pertinent is that he had contact with his Mother on th 12th of this month; possibly his father. They are very vulnerable.

vegansrock Wed 25-Mar-20 14:33:46

Well I’m sure Harry is as worried as anyone about a parent who is ill. The fact that he is not in the U.K. is immaterial. He wouldn’t be allowed to visit anyway.

Bridgeit Wed 25-Mar-20 14:31:47

I wonder if P.William helped with the decision, I doubt that he is in a hurry to take over.

25Avalon Wed 25-Mar-20 14:27:35

I do not like Prince Charles. I think he is very hypocritical. However, I do not wish him ill and I hope that he recovers from the virus which could turn out nasty for him. He is second in line to the throne and as such is entitled to special consideration. He picked up this virus doing his job as a senior royal, one which he has had to spend more time on since Harry bu****ed off out of it. I wonder how Harry feels now?

Chestnut Wed 25-Mar-20 14:26:56

The usual nasty posters here spouting their disapproval. The Queen is very elderly and Charles is next in line to the throne, so it's quite right he and his family should be tested. I wish him the very best for a quick recovery. It's early days though ?

Bridgeit Wed 25-Mar-20 14:24:36

If PC had stayed put, the comments would have been about him being selfish for not buggering off out of the way.( Especially because he can)
Perhaps they all have a better chance of avoiding / spreading it by decamping.
Anyone who is not keen on the RF is going to view them & their actions negatively. Ie , if he stayed no doubt that would have been criticised.

Oldwoman70 Wed 25-Mar-20 14:16:09

paddyanne He moved before he was tested positive - still if he had stayed where he was he would no doubt be accused of putting that community at risk. I am no fan of Prince Charles but I really don't understand how anyone can be so unpleasant towards someone with this awful virus.

Greymar Wed 25-Mar-20 14:11:52

When did the Duke say that ?

Esspee Wed 25-Mar-20 14:11:15

Everyone was told not to leave London for second homes in the country. Now Aberdeenshire has another patient to contend with.

Urmstongran Wed 25-Mar-20 14:09:40

The elite will always have more money and privileges than the rest of us. That’s just life. They are like the queen bees in a hive and we the worker bees.
?

I hope as I would with anyone that he makes a full recovery.

Bridgeit Wed 25-Mar-20 14:07:54

He & others will be dammed if they do & dammed if they don’t.
It is possible to attribute good & bad motives to anyone whom we don’t personally know, we do it on here on a regular basis.
At the end of the day most folks who care about other folks will do their best to comply with the advice given.
Unfortunately as I said down post , the area I live in has been flooded with the ‘ don’t cares ‘ who are Not staying inside their holiday homes.

paddyanne Wed 25-Mar-20 13:56:19

WHY would he take his virusand his staff to an area where the number of cases is relatively low .Surely if he has it his staff are in danger of getting it too. That will put others in the cmmunity at risk ,Sure he wont go out or deal with the tradespeople but the folk who are looking after him will have to.Bloody selfish entitled excuse for a man .Should have stayed at his MAIN residence .Like the rest of the country is being told .

Why are some of you so nasty. This is a 70 year old man who is ill, he is as vulnerable as the next elderly person.
I for one wish him well, as I would anyone who has this dreadful disease.

Bridgeit Wed 25-Mar-20 13:33:38

RIverwalk, I live in an area of 2nd home owners, some of them have arrived and behaved appallingly. They did not stay in side their homes, they were swigging drinks on terraces, on beaches, strolling ( strutting) around with out a care for anyone except themselves.

Marmight Wed 25-Mar-20 13:27:05

I’ve never commented like this before on GN but always a first time for everything.
There are always those on this forum, who take any opportunity to be unpleasant and, yes, hateful about anything or anyone with whom they disagree. Sad, bitter people sad. I’d wish no one any harm from this horrendous virus whether I agreed, disagreed, liked or disliked them.
(I believe the RF and many others relocated before the Govt decision on staying put)

Oldwoman70 Wed 25-Mar-20 13:21:15

As I posted earlier, he was tested because he was in contact with someone (Prince Albert of Monaco) who later tested positive

SueDonim Wed 25-Mar-20 13:14:10

There aren’t any supermarkets near Balmoral so Camilla won’t be shopping in them, Anniebach. The RF use the same shops as I do, small businesses and companies. I’ve also used the same gardeners and the same cleaners as the RF.

I wish any-and-everyone who has this virus a swift return to good health.

undecided Wed 25-Mar-20 13:10:31

I too wish PC all the best and speedy recovery and I do not think this is the time to post nasty comments. I cannot understand why anyone would show such insensitivity at another person's misfortune or sickness - does not matter who he is.

bikergran Wed 25-Mar-20 13:08:17

maybe because of his age he was tested.
