I’m sure there’s more opinions to share on this topic.

Bridgeit Sun 05-Apr-20 11:59:58

But Annie we could go on & on , one persons mocking, could be the normal trait of another.
This is the difficulty of communication without visual clues:
Ie when we converse face to face, we can read expressions, hear tone of voice etc.
?So this is my friendly , not being obtuse face to match my comments.

Anniebach Sun 05-Apr-20 11:48:33

No Bridgeit, you know very well what I mean, disagreeing with
a post is not the same as mocking posters.

GagaJo Sun 05-Apr-20 11:39:34

It's a soap opera for the chattering classes.

Bridgeit Sun 05-Apr-20 11:25:31

Of which we all do both.
Ie. A comment on the topic
A comment on an another person’s personal opinion.

Anniebach Sun 05-Apr-20 11:19:30

The difference - posters who post their opinions on the topic of the thread - posters who post their opinions on posters

Bridgeit Sun 05-Apr-20 11:16:01

Exactly Namsnanny, that goes without saying, in this respect we are all the same.

Namsnanny Sun 05-Apr-20 02:32:14

Possibly Bridgeit, but for me I can usually gauge all I need to know from the title of the thread to tell if its for me. Sometimes followed up with a brief skip over the first few posts.
Even then there is no compulsion to post necessarily.
Posting points, even tentatively towards needing to voice an opinion.
In which case there must be some level of interest there.

Anniebach … 20.09 grin

Yes, that was an Oscar winning performance for sure.

Anniebach Sat 04-Apr-20 15:22:51

newnanny. She is definitely in the running for an Oscar if only for her visit to S.A. and the tv interview she gave there.

Bridgeit Sat 04-Apr-20 14:19:21

Surely One has to read a thread in order to agree , disagree or be non commital.

FoghornLeghorn Sat 04-Apr-20 12:20:49

But the interest on here was always high because the age demographic are more interested in the RF, plus many have a lot of free time due to retirement.

Well if you think this is true you obviously haven’t been on Mumsnet. Presumably the demographic over there is younger on average with far fewer retired posters. There are thousands, literally thousands of posts about M&H. I think they’re on something like their nineteenth main thread, the other eighteen being full as having reached one thousand posts. Add to this the multitude of shorter threads and the total number is colossal. So no, it certainly isn’t just older people who are fuelling the continued interest.

newnanny Sat 04-Apr-20 12:09:08

Your comment made me chuckle Annie. grin I have return the favour. I have read Meghan wants to return to acting but will only consider working with A listers.

Anniebach Sat 04-Apr-20 11:52:06

Quite well thank you, I do ask the same question of those who
criticise this thread but read it.

Ihonestlydontcare Sat 04-Apr-20 11:45:26

Are you quite well? This sort of vicious obsession with people you’ve never even met is not healthy.

Sparklefizz Sat 04-Apr-20 11:35:20

Annie Love it!

eazybee Sat 04-Apr-20 11:06:50

Annie! grin

Anniebach Sat 04-Apr-20 09:51:45

Hope the new best friends ask her if she is ok.

eazybee Sat 04-Apr-20 09:42:47

Missing Frogmore Cottage?
I don't think so for a minute.

They are out house-hunting for a mansion beach house, in the sunshine, in a 'fun' place with lots of new best friends, no responsibilities and a great deal of satisfaction at having achieved what they think they want.
I don't think either is given to much introspection.
Prodigal Son, Part 1?
Or: they may even enjoy it.

Grannynannywanny Sat 04-Apr-20 08:23:23

Can’t help thinking they are maybe looking back at their previous life and wishing they were in isolation in the secluded luxury of Frogmore cottage. I wonder if it’s even crossed their minds that so many of the hardworking tax payers who contributed towards the millions to renovate their free house are now living in poverty, relying on food banks to provide for their family.

Sparkling Sat 04-Apr-20 08:05:55

As long as they don't have a penny from us, the tax payers, let them do what they want. Within a couple of years, when they don't have any official engagements here, America will not be interested either. They will feel old news.

ValerieF Fri 03-Apr-20 20:21:45

Personally I don't care what this pair do, I am all for people doing what they want in life. I wish them no ill. In fact wish them all the best but so long as they don't take 'my' money doing it! No MORE funding for protection or anything else. Their choice but they can't have it both ways.

maddyone Fri 03-Apr-20 17:44:02

There’ll be a lot more paps in Hollywood/ LA than there are in Britain. Or even Canada.

Anniebach Fri 03-Apr-20 16:34:48

There were no photographs taken when they were in this country unless they were on official engagements, they chose
to give interviews, the rest of the royal family do not .

Urmstongran Fri 03-Apr-20 16:05:31

It just made me smile - the big statement about not living in the USA as long as Trump was President.

EllanVannin Fri 03-Apr-20 15:39:10

It's not their fault if the paps are waiting to pounce. It wouldn't matter who it was, those sharks are ready to snap their cameras jumping out from nowhere.
