Who’s going on holiday this year my DH booked a steam train holiday early on this year for Sept/ Oct we’re travelling to the the north of Scotland for three nights here’s hoping it’ll go ahead and in my daily improvements that I’ll no longer need a wheelchair. The weather is going well so far fingers crossed ? it keeps good.

Well, I'm going nowhere at this rate. Had Edinburgh booked in April - obviously cancelled, so I'm joining the hotel/castle tour/meal at a posh restaurant (all 3 separate gifts) can be booked for September.

I was meant to be in Filey this month - cancelled and re-booked for August (paid in full) but now the travel company has gone into administration.......... bugger.

Was meant to be in St Mawes in Cornwall but hey, there's worse things happening out there. Would love to go back to Cornwall as soon as we are able to. Then, onto the Greek Islands as usual.

I’m not thinking that far ahead. All I want to do is see and hug my family.

No plans yet! I usually volunteer at a Christian conference at the beginning of August, then spend time visiting family or them visiting me. The conference was cancelled early on and visiting family may or may not be possible as my DiL is pregnant and she and DS are going to be moving house as DS's job ends at the end of June and his next job starts in October in Germany. They will be going to live with her parents and having the baby at the local hospital there before moving abroad. Quite an upheaval without the covid 19 to take into account! I had hoped to go to Germany to help them but not sure now if that will be possible. To be honest holidays are the last thing on my mind at the moment. Hopefully enthusiasm will return eventually.

A cottage in Malvern in October, postponed from earlier this month

Interesting to hear that the government are willing to have localised clampdown if necessary. I hope that helps holiday hotspots. Locals must dread an influx.

I'm wondering if many 'resorts' abroad will welcome people from UK.

One holiday we have already cancelled that was for May. We are booked for the Lake district at the end of August and Center parcs in November. Hoping they will happen but safety first.

Well we won’t be going anywhere this year, end of! From what I’ve seen in our town and supermarket today and pictures of those on the beach at the weekend a second spike is practically inevitable.

Lisbon/The Azores in April was cancelled. Still fighting TAP for a refund.
Due to be heading to Scotland in 10 days.Hahahahahahaha!
Still have a degree of hope for Tennessee in October but not holding my breath.

Our Holiday Home, cruises and everything else has been cancelled.

Personally I can’t wait to get on the first flight out of here. My partner and I are stuck in different countries, me in West Yorkshire and she is in our recently purchased modest apartment on the island of La Palma. We haven’t seen each other since 12th March.
My concern is my being just an ordinary retired person with no health issues and no special status that I will be so low down the list of getting a vaccine should one become available or an antibody test with a health certificate as I’m fairly sure that I’ve had this virus back in March. So I have no idea when we are likely to be in the same country.
I’m finding myself becoming less frightened of this virus as time goes by. I’m doing my best to maintain a physical distance, though not always possible and I refuse to be terrified into such a state of anxiety that the mental health issues outweigh the unlikely chance of catching it through accidentally getting a bit too close to someone in the street.
So yes I would travel at the first opportunity.

We’re unlikely to be going away. Apart from city breaks we don’t holiday in the UK. We don’t do camping or self catering at all and so will be dependent on hotels being able to reopen. This lockdown has brought home to us how many places we’d like to visit before it’s too late and will book something when we can.

We had a holiday book in Germany at the beginning of June. We cancelled and rebooked for September. Hopefully we will be able to go. Wonderful hotel near Bonn on the Rhine. Been going for 7 years.

If I holidayed anywhere and stayed in a hotel, Airbnb, B&B I’d have to take my own pillow. The thought of sleeping on a pillow that someone else had slept on, breathed on, dribbled on gives me the heebie jeebies ?. I’m staying home and maybe take the boat out somewhere just as pretty and isolated as we are now

We should’ve been in Falmouth this week with my daughter and her husband however have postponed that trip until 2021. I have not renewed my passport as I don’t see us going abroad in the foreseeable future. We usually do a trip to Belgium in our car, however as my husband & I have health issues it will not happen this year, due to covid 19. I’m not bothered if a holiday to the U.K. coast is out of the question this year because the most important factor is that we all remain safe and well in our family. We used our spending money intended for Cornwall to buy a brand new ( much needed) luxury lawnmower.

Window Bay.

Have a caravan holiday booked for mid/late August in the North East. Haven't been abroad for a few years so foreign holidays dont bother me.

Pantglas2 Tue 26-May-20 13:37:01

Well I’ve just booked our flights to Malaga at the beginning of July as my poor little Casa will think I don’t love her any more!

We’ll take all necessary precautions and I figure everyone will be on a hygiene high alert at airports etc at the beginning of the lifting of restrictions before complacency inevitably sets in after a few months, human nature being what it is.

We have a trip to India booked for December and I’m looking forward to that as well.

Nannan2 Tue 26-May-20 13:28:56

Lets hope they can find a vaccine.and soon.hmm

Nannan2 Tue 26-May-20 13:26:46

We're not going now this year, had 2 uk short holidays cancelled.(well, one closed, then other, but other was booked for late august but i cancelled anyway) i wouldn't have felt safe even by then!hmm

Taptan Tue 26-May-20 13:16:57

If allowed I will be flying to Cyprus to see my beautiful grandchildren, who every time I see them on FaceTime ask “when are you coming to my house Grandma”.

Urmstongran Tue 26-May-20 12:45:44

By default, as Ryanair cancelled our flights home at the end of March, we’re staying here n Spain! Lucky us. The weather was awful right through Easter - if anyone had intended to come out here then they’d have been SO disappointed!

Now the weather is gorgeous (32°C today). I’m sat at the moment on a terrace at a lovely bar with a glass of chilled white Rioja.

Even when flights are possible I don’t fancy a train, airport and a plane home so we will probably stay until the autumn!

Happysexagenarian Tue 26-May-20 12:38:21

Absolutely nowhere! We have no desire to go anywhere or mix with other people for quite a while yet.

Covid19 is still with us and still killing people, and I think it could well recur (later this year? next year?) or become something we have to learn to live with, like seasonal flu.

I agree that we could and should think of Holidaying in the UK, in order to help our economy recover. Having been an enthusiastic traveller I now feel that the thought of spending three hours in an airport before you can board your flight has put me off air travel for a long long time. holidaying in the UK, in order to help our economy recover. We need to support our home tourism first
