As others have said, there will be a lot of others in a similar position, and maybe this, coupled with the fact that the government paid out so much to those in the furlough scheme, will mean that they will reassess the payments to those on Universal Credit and other benefits. It seems to me so unfair to pay out £2500 a month to people who have a job to go back to and are in a state of interrupted employment, whilst paying so little to those who are potentially facing longer without work.
I try to be optimistic in life, and I really hope that we use this awful virus as a springboard to finding a better way for everyone in our society.
Regardless of that, though, I hope he finds something soon. On the bright side, he must be in demand to have been in the position he was in, however unfortunate that turned out to be in the end.
