I feel your pain. I am retired, so have far more leeway now. So, if I can't sleep, instead of lying there, stressing about it, I'll do something. Decoupage, gilding, organising a drawer or cupboard, writing or reading. Sometimes if anxious I do 15 minutes on my vibroplate to burn off adrenaline. If totally knackered will listen to audio-books or pod casts through sleep phones. I try and treat it as 'bonus' time to do things that are either absorbing and creative, or something that is a little job I never seem to get round too during the day.
