Celebrity Overload

I like her, and her voice, and her songs, even the new one. I think she’s very talented. I don’t watch much television or read any magazines though, so I’ve missed all the (over) exposure.

I bought the first CD she did. I've listened to other stuff of hers and thought it all sounded quite miserable. I much preferred Amy Winehouse, particularly in her early days.

I prefer the road less traveled, sometimes.

Yes, I expect some people do relate to her anguish, actually.
There is one of her songs I can't listen to because it makes me cry.
Just the same as countless other songs have had an effect on countless other people over the years.

It seems like Adele has become another celebrity 'brand' instead of a singer of songs.

Is she helping others by telling-all though? Do people relate to her anguish? Do they feel less-alone knowing that those in the celebrity world suffer, too? I'm not against such celebrities being honest... but not sure we need to know the minute details.

I remember being shocked at her language between songs in the Royal Albert Hall of all places, has she no respect? She spoke like a real street girl in such an illustrious place, it made me cringe with embarrassment because she was English and letting the side down. I decided she was not for me from that day.

Think she has a nice voice but would not listen to her music, it’s a bit depressing for me. Her recent pictures look ridiculous, she is so false and she looked better before.

I only saw her once on TV, can't remember what or where but it was a large concert hall. Her language was appalling and I have never liked her or her music since.

I would imagine her agents are getting her to promote herself... she's 'big bucks' and they get a nice chunk of her "obscene" earnings. Striking whilst the iron's hot, so to speak.

The entertainment industry is a business like any other business and as long as people are prepared to pay to hear her in concert or buy / stream her recordings, she'll continue to get rich.

And if the tabloids are anything to go by, we are a bit of a celebrity-obsessed nation, lapping up all the details of their lives - even the mundane bits.

I've often noticed on social media - Facbook in particular - that any column inches about a celebrity's exploits attracts hundreds, often thousands, of comments; yet an article about something that affects all our lives, like social care or the NHS, only has a handful of comments.
