To think we’ll be in lockdown by Christmas

Just seeing the news about new restrictions being introduced for care home visits, and one expert opinion warns us to expect plan C fairly soon, as plan B wont be enough to stop a fourth wave - Omicron has caused the biggest daily jump to 633 cases in the UK. What do others think ?

Reading this morning of a possible 2 week circuit breaker in the New year. It will mean a ban of mixing indoors etc. This is to reduce hospital admissions. I suppose that is to analyse the impact of the current dramatic rise in infection seen currently. Johnson is reluctant to act because of the Tory rebels. I guess that people will have to take responsibility for whatever action they take.

I think it’s unfair that people who refuse the injection are allowed to mix with those who have had it . Those who have complied are being punished for the few who won’t comply . It should be that if you refuse you don’t go out otherwise it will never go away

It is still possible to pass on Covid no matter how many vaccines you have.

It is still possible to get Covid and either have symptoms or be asymptomatic no matter how many vaccines you have.

Grannygravy Well done for having the energy to even attempt to answer! Joking apart that is exactly how Hitler managed to do what he did.

This is true, but it’s also true that firstly, you are far less likely to actually get Covid if you’re fully vaccinated, and if you don’t get it, you can’t pass it on, and secondly, fully vaccinated people are about 50% less likely to pass on the virus even if they are unfortunate enough to actually catch the virus.

Full vaccination must be the gold standard, and if everyone in the country was fully vaccinated, it would be much more difficult for the virus to spread. Anti vaxxers are definitely causing us more disease. About half of all Covid sufferers in hospital are unvaccinated. That’s a huge proportion when you consider that only six and half million adults are unvaccinated out of many, many millions of fully vaccinated people.

My small independent vets have just posted that many staff have tested positive and their service will be greatly affected.

They worked solidly through lockdown, we just handed our pets over and had to wait in the car park. I'm shocked so many of them have it and hope they all recover speedily.

AGAA4 Sun 19-Dec-21 17:18:01

That is the biggest problem. They are causing more work for an overstretched NHS.

love0c you are exactly right, this is how tyranny begins. And if this jab was so great why do people have to be threatened to get it

Maybe because some people appear to not have the brains they were born with? As for tyranny, you should try Iraq or Afghanistan or a number of African countries if you want to see tyranny.

Biscuitmuncher Sun 19-Dec-21 18:02:30

AreWeThereYet guess what, I don't live in those countries. I live in Great Britain where everyone seems to have lost their marbles and are doing everything a morally corrupt government tells them to do
