To think that Kurt Zouma should be banned from keeping animals after abusing his cat?

Just that really.

I know someone who used to be a (hobby) cat breeder and had trouble with local kids who poisoned/killed a couple of their cats.

They involved the rspca who, because they couldn't 'prove exactly' which youth had done it, prosecuted them for not keeping their cats safe (despite them being on their property, in a locked pen and behind 2 locked gates).

The rspca seized this person's cats, went to court 9 months later, asked the court to make the breeder pay boarding fees for 14 cats for 9 months and to give them a ban. Fortunately the boarding fees weren't upheld but a fine and a ban for 5yrs was imposed.

This was a respectable breeder who followed all legislation and GCCF (cat version of Kennel Club) rules and did absolutely nothing wrong.

When I look at the abuse that Zouma committed, then compare it with this breeder, imo he deserves, at the very least, the same punishment handed down to the breeder.

The fact that he is a famous footballer should not mean that he or his pets should be treated any differently to the rest of us. His pets deserve to be treated with respect (the same as yours and mine) and he deserves to be punished in exactly the same way as anyone else would be.

Thoughts..

We then asked Alexa o play ‘that Hey Baby song’ - it’s by DJ Otzi from 2001. Brought back many fun memories of everyone up dancing at functions we went to. It’s very catchy. Himself was singing along as he peeled all the Sunday veg.
I do like to help out...
?

Yes, Himself has just laughed at an article in the newspaper this morning about all the massive inflatable cats at the West Ham game yesterday and the supporters singing ‘Hey a yay Zouma.. ooh, ah (you know that catchy real song) .. I wanna know oh oh oh oh oh ... how you kicked that cat” ? ?

Serves him right, French pillock.

So glad it is being kept alive and not swept under the carpet ????????????????

I had read the opposition arrived with inflatable cats and had a good chant for Zouma. I hadn’t heard about the miaowing - fabulous

Apparently there were several complaints to the referee from West Ham players that the opposition were meeowing when Zouma got the ball…

Awwww diddums…….boo bloody hoo!!!Good, as long as it’s kept active…. Pity the cat couldn’t complain about being kicked around the room!! ??

Twice I’ve posted now and it hasn’t trended, this is the third time, if it doesn’t trend now I’ll begin to think some members of Gransnet HQ might be on the board!! ?

Shinamae Sat 19-Feb-22 19:25:50

I’m not at all religious. I believe in mother nature, even after what she did yesterday! BUT I do believe in Karma

Shinamae Sat 19-Feb-22 19:23:45

Just got back in. How did the crowd react to that piece of filth? Brady and Moyes and the rest of the board SHOULD hang their heads in shame….but they won’t

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 19-Feb-22 13:15:26

Despicable.

lavendermine Sat 19-Feb-22 13:10:38

He's on - part of the line up - back 4. Unbelievable!
Moyes should be sacked (just read he has told him to concentrate on the game and get over this!!) The man is a disgrace.

lavendermine Sat 19-Feb-22 13:05:55

Zoejury what a ridiculous post - "addicted to drama" - words fail me.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 19-Feb-22 12:34:02

Blimey Zoejury if you think people being outraged at a sportsman abusing his pet cats is akin to being addicted to drama I am totally lost for words…

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 19-Feb-22 12:30:14

I wouldn’t call this outrage being ‘addicted to a drama’. That demeans what happened and our response to it.

Zoejory Sat 19-Feb-22 12:11:06

The problem is that people forget. One only has to look at how we reacted during the pandemic. And the furore with people not sticking to rules. Including the government. Partygate. Which even now is losing steam.

I am in the civil service. I work with many left leaning colleagues. Young people. I have 5 adult children who we see regularly.

Partygate was massive but now I only ever see people complaining about in on GN and in the Daily Mail comments. Yes, I do read the Mail. Along with most other news websites.

The public are fickle. We go from one drama to another and barely remember the last one.

Zouma will play and people will get over their outrage. Not that I would, I'd like to see him and Moyes sacked, but the sad fact is that we just seem to get addicted to a drama and then move on to the next one.

Shinamae I half watched a program a couple of weeks ago.
It was either US or Australian based. It was called Animal Rescue something or other.
Anyway, they had a special police department who deal with animal cruelty.
There was a man who had been abusing his cats. They found DNA evidence in his flat (the cats’ blood) and he was arrested and put on trial.
Why can’t we do this?
This country is crap

Fanny I totally agree with this and you .. off out in a minute friends caravan awning has disappeared yesterday and it cost £1000 so we are going to attempt to track it down but by now it could be absolutely anywhere, anyway it will get me off iPad for a little bit catch you later ??

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 19-Feb-22 11:52:27

There was talk of him being dropped from the French team, I didn’t hear anything more about that.

Suspended and sold to me is a very light punishment, I can think of a lot of punishments I’d like to give him but I would probably end up in jail myself ?

Totally agree, I am sure I read somewhere that if/when he returns to France he is likely to be prosecuted, with a sentence of up to four years if found guilty.
