Just an observation. In my experience anything "new and improved" is usually a disappointment. I wish things could stay the same for a while so that I could catch up with life in general.

I don’t see why the OP should go elsewhere to buy her favourite knickers M&S have changed the design of my favourite bra. Should I strop and insist they remake it in my preferred style? Or do what I had to do and look elsewhere?

They stopped doing my favourite altogether, no response to enquiries so I do feel very stroppy! Unfortunately I can't find a similar one that fits as well anywhere.

A bit difficult to return unsatisfactory pants as, presumably, they'll have been tried on and stores won't want them back. How to tell if they don't fit though?
I've noticed M&S sizes changing recently. My trusty trousers in a style and size I've worn for years needed replaced and suddenly my usual length is 4 inches too long. Very annoying but at least I could return them. I don't think I'm four inches shorter unless Covid vaccine has this unusual side effect?!

I haven't read the entire thread but what I have read (first half-ish) I have enjoyed. Well done, snowberry, for raising the issue when people are getting "cancelled" for merely pointing out biological facts.

I’ve just bought loads of lacy knickers from m'ns and I thought they were rather skimpy so I don’t think they are the ones being written about,unless I’ve put on weight in strange places. I would have thought transmen would be more upmarket.

If I can get my bum off this chair I'm off to M&S to return a pack of knickers that I bought in four sizes too big!

I'll be on the look out so don't accidentally buy tackle-accommodating drawers.

I wanted a dress at Christmas and I waited for it to be reduced and I was left in the unfortunate situation that lots of men had bought it and posted photos of themselves in it (they looked like men not transwomen fwiw) and I decided not to buy it

The larger gussets in some M&S knickers are to catch leaks.

If men have periods they could be ideal.

Has anyone asked M&S about this or taken the pants back and told them why? It does seem an odd marketing strategy, however, as I have had problems getting a bra that fits from them even though I was buying the same type, maybe they are changing everything as some mad post covid exercise.

You have a perfect right to raise this if you have found a change in the product. I know how annoying that can be when something you have been happily buying for years is suddenly different and not in a good way. Any chance you can post a link to this product? It would be helpful to see the item.

That's not going to happen.

The pants arent drastically different.
There's a bit more stretch and a bit more material.
But enough for a previously loyal customer to notice the change.

They all vary in comfort and fit and when you find some you like it’s annoying when the makers change the shape.Don’t trans women need a gap for speedy access as in men’s pants?couldn’t the makers feminise some male underwear instead?

It is definitely a thing.

Obviously some woke idiot designer is pandering to them and making their lacy pants more 'male friendl' More material and more stretchy in the front.

snowberryZ, if you don't like the ones you're buying, buy others. It's a buyers market. If no one buys big gusset knickers, they'll stop making them.

Of course, there is the trend towards making period pants to use instead of sanitary protection. Maybe big gusset pants are a step in this direction?
