Next do the in between odd sizes , I noticed when I was buying trousers online that they did 13, 15, 17, Sometimes you don’t fit the standard sizes so this is good, let’s hope other retailers follow the idea ,

Lands End jeans cross the sizes.

*paddyann*, I used to buy size 13 jeans in a little boutique inn Carlisle. That was years ago when Carlisle actually had some decent clothes shops.

Oh for the days of Bulloughs and Clara Cullens and the lovely one the crescent opposite the train station. my mother bought her clothes for my wedding there . I shopped in Carlisle as a teenager as well and my wedding dress in a specialist shop.
All the independent shoe shops up little alleyways.
Nothing there now even House of Frazer has gone friends have told me.

I'm normally a size 12 or 14 but have clothes sized from 10 to 20, none of them oversized.

DGDs uniform supplier does this. Age 5/6 then 7/8. When she grew out of 5-6 the 7-8 was huge on her.
It is very annoying

True, midgey !

But even single sizes are all over the place! I have five M and S jumpers same style, two are too small and one one is massive. All are marked size 16.

I find the 14/16 size too big and need a 12/14. I suspect that many of these "joint" sizes are too big or too small for people, regardless of how they are paired up.

What's wrong with single sizes, 12, 14, 16 etc? Probably just as many would be sold and would fit better.

I often see clothes that I like, but when I find they come in 10/12 or 14/16 I don't buy them because they're no use.

Sizing is all over the place nowadays though I have from size 8 to size 14 in my wardrobe and they all fit

I'm sure I used to buy jeans in a size 9 or 11 when I was in my twenties .My daughter tells me I'm havering but I'm quite sure .It was a specialist jeans shop in Glasgow

And the variation in sizes is crazy too. I am wearing a size 14 jumper today, but I have others labelled 16 & 18..they all appear to be the same size...

Marydoll Thu 31-Mar-22 19:41:19

Me too, because I think I identify as a size 15! grin

JaneJudge Thu 31-Mar-22 19:40:31

i completely agree

Kate1949 Thu 31-Mar-22 19:39:15

That drives mad.

eazybee Thu 31-Mar-22 19:21:18

Absolutely agree. Seasalt do this and M& S used to;( don't know if they still do as store here has closed).

I went to buy a jumper online today and the size choices given were 12/14 or 16/18 why do so many manufactures leave out the 14/16 size
A 12 would be too small for me but an 18 huge is it too much to ask for a 14/16 size ?
