Watching the funeral alone

Am I missing something here. I was prepared to watch the Queens funeral alone. Several people have asked me who I was watching it with. However last minute my friend , loaded with goodies arrived and we watched it together she said she was alone too. She was surprised I was not watching with my mother(91) . Today a relative has been quite stroppy saying I should have watched it with my mother.
Can anyone tell me why everyone thinks they should get together for this funeral. My own family went out for the day but several others have met up either at home or in a pub. I would have been happy watching it alone

I watched alone as my husband was working, yes we would have watched it together, but each to their own

I did not watch any part of it.

I watched it alone and cried buckets, so was glad that no-one else was there as I could let go, not just of my sorrow at losing the Queen, but also just five months after DH died and that is still raw. He would have been as devastated as I was.

I didn't watch any of it. In fact, the tv hasn't been on for about 2 weeks now.

I watched it alone, if I invited others then I would have spent the day preparing meals and waiting on others. I got a sit down between loading the washer and dryer.
My sister, in Germany, made an occasion of it and went to a friend's house with several others. Not something I would do.

I watched it alone by choice and felt quite drained by the end.

I watched it on my own. It did occur to me to invite a friend round but was put off by the thought of someone else feeling obliged to chat, commenting on the proceedings, interrupting my train of thought.

My thoughts entirely!
I might even have had to forgo my nap while the hearse was being driven to Windsor
