BLINk.....I am 74. That’s old, no longer can I get away with just being ‘middle aged’. Dds both mid 40s, it’s they who are middle aged.

I'm on my way to a friend's 80th birthday party. I thought how did that happen I'm still a few years off but there's no escape.
Enjoy your anniversary *Calendar girl*grin

Blink…my eldest DGD started Uni last year…

Gulp….

I blinked and DS was 50. Seeing him going grey, has also been a bit of blink moment because it started during all the COVID lockdowns.

DD will be 50 next year (we will be 80). Her menopause hasn't bothered me because she had some problems a few years ago, which were resolved with the insertion of slow release hormone coil, that means, the menopause is all done and dusted. So it has been more a medical problem than anything else.

Granddaughters are teenagers, where did the tiny girls go!

Glad I’m not the only one who feels like this.

Today is our Golden Wedding Anniversary.

To me, my DH is still that handsome young 21 year old, if I ignore the grey hair, hearing aids, blood pressure medication…..

I, of course, have not changed one bit!

I blinked and a sad old 80 year old looked at me from the mirror.

Aveline Fri 23-Sept-22 14:27:46

I'm propping my eyes open but I don't think it's working. Somehow my baby girl is 40. Must stop blinking!!

Norah Fri 23-Sept-22 14:24:06

I blinked, been married 61 years, have a 60 yr old daughter and 3 younger, over 40 yr old GD and 7 younger, 4 GGC with another soon.

Maybe I blinked often.

What about when your daughters start going through the menopause. That felt really wierd!

I was looking at my wedding photographs and realised that when I got married, my father was five years younger than my son is now.
All in the blink of an eye.

Callistemon21 Fri 23-Sept-22 14:18:00

I remember thinking I was far too young to be a great-aunt because I had a young baby myself.

Now I'm a great-great aunt several times over.

I blinked and we had been married for 60 years last September.

I was 80 this year, NO! surely not, but yes, I am now old(er)

Rosina Fri 23-Sept-22 13:26:46

I struggle to realise that my DC are in their forties - my own fortieth birthday seems about five years ago. However, I have almost had that number of years again!

Fleurpepper Fri 23-Sept-22 13:19:09

50 next year for my oldest. I remember my own mother being truly shocked when I reached 50! Unbelievable.

Yammy Fri 23-Sept-22 12:35:51

I blinked and aquired another nephew.

My lightbulb moment was when all my grandchildren were driving their own cars - it made me wonder whether I should be driving mine and I’m considering having a ‘refresher’ course.
