It may be me . . . but is anyone else left feeling a little "icky" by the advert for Bold washing pods featuring a 'Dad' being sent out on a date in his best shirt by his daughters?

He may not be 'Dad' of course. Maybe he is Uncle Jim or much much older bro.

Just feels . . . creepy.

Do the girls wait up to hear a blow by blow account of his evening out (note the heart messages signalled as he sets off down the pathway)?

That creepy man on the dating website who sticks his tongue out in imitation of a Picasso-esque picture annoys me when I don't look away in time

what annoys me more about the Picasso ad is how the silly woman he is with giggles like a 12 year old as if he is the greatest comedian ever. His ego will be the size of a planet thanks to that silly simpering woman

Do the Always ads really need the red liquid?

The ads for period pads previously used blue liquid, and allegedly this led to young girls worrying there was something wrong with them because when their periods started they were red, not blue. May not be true of course.

So pleased I have my Humax and anything I want to watch is rcorded onto that, so that when I do watch it ALL adverts. are just very fast forwarded. So, not only do I NEVER see any advert. but saves a lot of time also.

Same here Franbern!

There’s a holiday add with the most obnoxious family. The son teases his sister who has dropped her ice cream, the mum throws her flip flop at a sunbather and the son is seen tucking into doughnuts in the “private “ lounge. I must remember the name of this company to ensure I never travel with them.

Oh yes! The vile family that you dread being at the same place as you on holiday! I want to avoid the kind of customer they think they are appealing to grin

I toocan't stand the latest batch of adverts where everyone starts dancing.Sold a car, sold a house ?Then dash out into the street and start gyrating and break dancing with an inane grin on your face. They drive me nuts !

Has anyone noticed in the Daisy Daisy ad the girls arent wearing bras. Boobs bouncing all over the place 😂

MrsKen33 Sun 05-Feb-23 17:49:12

‘We buy any car.com’ and Wren have dancers . Why . Just plain silly

How about the ultra-creeps in the 'Verisure' alarm!!

The phone wielding coffee shop customer who puts down the server for not remembering his name with 'at least you got the coffee right'. No 'thank you' so it might be set in Winchester.

And the two women discussing the installation of an alarm for Mum . . . 'peace of mind for me . . . and her!'. I fantasise that the young person doing the alarm fitting is inviting 'Mum' on a hot date, will marry her and Mum will disinherit her kid(s).

Why does the man who brings June the parsnips set them down in the middle of what I assume is supposed to be her living room?

And spare me from all those jigging people - especiallly the We Buy Any Car.com

And those ridiculous people dancing through the Wren kitchens ...

Perhaps Derek has wisely chosen to avoid the group of enthusiastic dancers in June’s kitchen? 🤔

Anything can happen in Adland…

Gingster Sun 05-Feb-23 08:55:29

Watching an ad with my adult son about vaginal dryness! 🫣

Esmay
" Nothing wrong with donkeys nor Scottish accents ( love them) but the combination is really peculiar. "

I agree, having thought that every time the ad is on. As I said to DH a couple of days ago (jokingly), it's so wrong - everyone knows that donkeys don't speak with a Scottish accent!

Still couldn't tell you what they are advertising though.

I want to know why dodgy Derek is going to buy new binoculars with his cash gift. What's he up to with them in the conservatory?? Hmm...........

honeyrose Sun 05-Feb-23 07:59:50

The bulky pee pants advert - total cringe.

fiorentina51 Sun 05-Feb-23 03:34:30

The Twix advert with the 2 bears eying up the 2 men discussing the merits of the aforementioned confectionery item. 😕

pinkprincess Sat 04-Feb-23 20:53:11

I cannot stand the June adverts.
Also the Pure Cremation ones where the deceased family are shown having a party presumablyon the saved insurance money

Canalboatgranma Sat 04-Feb-23 17:54:05

I hate the EE advert when Kevin Bacon is buried alive.
I did put in a complaint to the Advertising Standards Agency as the thought of being buried alive is my worst nightmare.
They replied that as he is shown alive at the end of the advert my complaint wasn't upheld; but I wasn't the only one to complain

Jalyn Sat 04-Feb-23 17:42:55

Caleo I’m with you on that add. Very annoying.

hollysteers Sat 04-Feb-23 17:32:32

The Welsh chap with the irritating sing song voice urging us to sell our gold items and be AMAZED at how much money we can make.

Bridgeit Sat 04-Feb-23 17:22:05

I refer to the advertisers.

Bridgeit Sat 04-Feb-23 17:20:11

Not a bad idea to show a Dad being supported by his daughters & encouraging him to ‘ scrub up well’ good on them .

welbeck Sat 04-Feb-23 17:07:25

i turn over when the ads come on, so i watch bits of different programmes.
i find that preferable.
i rarely watch drama, unless it was made some time ago, last century.

rockgran Sat 04-Feb-23 16:43:47

I can often remember the ads but rarely the product brand so they are a bit wasted on me!
