Where’s the snow! I’m sorry if you’ve a few inches but why the panic over a dusting?

None here in Manchester but a very cold and bright day.

Sussex/Surrey borders, I thought we were lucky not to get any snow until today, although it's not really settling, the road looks quite wet outside. Not a day for a walk though, I'm thinking of going to our newly refurbished John Lewis and walking continuously around the two floors there hoping that will be some sort of substitute, the weather outside looking most off putting for outside exercise, but I do miss a walk and it's either that or swimming for me. I hate snow, pretty it might well be at its best, but a damn hindrance in most respects.

Lots of snow here in S Wales….was planning to do some grocery shopping today - thank Heaven for long life milk and a well stocked freezer !

Rain here in southeast Cornwall. A good thing too, as our reservoirs are very low. We had a dry February but several very wet months, however, we are using more water than we are getting and still have a hosepipe ban. I dread to think what will happen when holidaymakers arrive in the summer. There are desalination plans so we'll all be drinking seawater.

I hate snow but have woken up to a blizzard and about 4 cms. I hope it goes away very soon. Don't fancy reversing my car up the steep slope that is my driveway, and then driving through my winding ungritted cul-de-sac. It would be ok once on the roads, but I'm staying in.

My cat has just skidded on the garden steps with a look of great surprise.

Sleet here in Bedfordshire just now - of course it's the day the window cleaners are due to come!

Sparklefizz Wed 08-Mar-23 09:47:03

PS. I'm in South Gloucestershire.

Snow across the river from Sparklefizz. It’s just stopped snowing now and is beginning to melt in places. My driveway is on a steep hill so we often get snowed in.

My niece in Surrey just sent me pictures of her garden covered in snow.

Very cold with rain here in North Devon

Panicking about a sprinkling of snow is a part of our national culture, don't you know. The Daily Mail is the custodian of our traditions.

Fortunately here in Scotland it's sunny and snowless, just bitterly cold.

Wheniwasyourage Wed 08-Mar-23 10:38:27

In this bit of Scotland we had about 10cm yesterday and a bit more overnight. It was about -6 on the max/min thermometer this morning. Very sunny today, so no doubt it will be cold again tonight.

Callistemon21 Wed 08-Mar-23 11:11:42

About 5cm here and it's still snowing quite heavily.

We dont have to go out today and 🤞 it won't last.

Callistemon21 Wed 08-Mar-23 11:12:24

1C - perfect for snow but feels like -4C

FannyCornforth Wed 08-Mar-23 12:04:46

A few flakes here in Derby! smile

Anniebach Wed 08-Mar-23 12:09:34

Heavy snow in South Wales

Kate1949 Wed 08-Mar-23 12:19:25

Snow today in Birmingham but it doesn't seem to be settling thankfully.

SachaMac Wed 08-Mar-23 18:13:24

Had quite a flurry here at lunch time (Derbyshire) but only a few odd flakes since, it’s bitterly cold though.

cornergran Wed 08-Mar-23 18:35:16

Woke to snow, it’s been continuing on and off all day in our bit of Somerset . Roads are ok here, not so a few miles along the M5. Personally we hope it’s cleared by Friday as we’ve a day coach trip booked.

M0nica Wed 08-Mar-23 19:26:41

Originally I thought it was just an overnight phenomena, and it did thaw a lot this morning, but started again after lunch and has been snowing steadily since and is expeceted to continue all night

Here is South Oxfordshire.

Forsythia Wed 08-Mar-23 19:28:22

We had it first thing on the south coast but then it turned to rain and has all washed away. I’m not sorry to be truthful.

Kate1949 Wed 08-Mar-23 19:45:54

It's settled now in Birmingham and we have quite a carpet of it. I hope it goes away quickly.

Nannagarra Wed 08-Mar-23 20:41:07

Constant tiny snow flakes which are not ‘sticking’ here in Sefton. DS2 tells me it’s the same from here to Wirral. It’s cold: I didn’t question DH doing the school run solo.
😉 ❄️

Happy birthday Joseanne!
