Where’s the snow! I’m sorry if you’ve a few inches but why the panic over a dusting?

March brings breezes, loud and shrill, scares the dancing daffodils!

(can’t remember the rest, though we had to learn it at primary school!)

That's brought back memories grin

January brings the snow,
to make our feet and fingers glow.

February brings the rain,
thaws the frozen ?????? again.

March brings breezes sharp and shrill,
blows (??) the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
scattering flowers at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
something something dah de dah grin.

June brings tulips, lillies, roses,
filling little hands with posies.

Hot July brings cooling showers,
dum de dum and something flowers.

August something about harvest.

Or was that September?.

I can't remember October either.

Dull November brings the blast,
to make the leaves go whirling past.

Chill December brings the sleet,
blazing fires and Christmas treats.

Not bad, after so long!

There is deep snow here and it's still coming down. The road is completely covered and impossible to drive on. No cars have been past all day.
I'm worried about the gutters as there is a heavy load of snow on them and they broke off a few years ago in heavy snow.

Callistemon21 Thu 09-Mar-23 14:12:19

It's pouring with rain here this afternoon.
☔🌧
Snow has all gone (for the time being)

Yep FannyCornforth it has arrived and I over slept. I am blaming that lovely quiet blankety sound that snow creates.
I hope it is just winters’ last hurrah before Easter 😺

FannyCornforth Thu 09-Mar-23 12:05:23

Just now in Derby. (Plus bonus 🦊 in the distance on the right)

Kate1949 Thu 09-Mar-23 10:00:47

We have thick snow and a blizzard here now!

Callistemon21 Wed 08-Mar-23 21:56:56

Schools were open but then some closed at lunch-time so the children had to be fetched home.

This happens every single year.
It snows in March, and every one acts totally gobsmacked.
It also often snows in April too.

I was born in a snowstorm in London on this very day!
Devon is currently sleety on the coast, no doubt snow on higher ground.

I missed this - happy birthday, Joseanne

It's lying here tonight (N Bucks) - fingers crossed it turns to rain tomorrow

I woke up to snow in Surrey at 6am. A decent covering and it continues snowing until around 9-30 then started to rain. By late afternoon, despite some extra snow flurries it stopped and now we have hardly any just slush and almost gone . Hope it doesn’t come back I hate snow!

Nannagarra Wed 08-Mar-23 20:41:45

Happy birthday Joseanne!

Constant tiny snow flakes which are not ‘sticking’ here in Sefton. DS2 tells me it’s the same from here to Wirral. It’s cold: I didn’t question DH doing the school run solo.
😉 ❄️

It's settled now in Birmingham and we have quite a carpet of it. I hope it goes away quickly.

Forsythia Wed 08-Mar-23 19:28:22

We had it first thing on the south coast but then it turned to rain and has all washed away. I’m not sorry to be truthful.

M0nica Wed 08-Mar-23 19:26:41

Originally I thought it was just an overnight phenomena, and it did thaw a lot this morning, but started again after lunch and has been snowing steadily since and is expeceted to continue all night

Here is South Oxfordshire.

cornergran Wed 08-Mar-23 18:35:16

Woke to snow, it’s been continuing on and off all day in our bit of Somerset . Roads are ok here, not so a few miles along the M5. Personally we hope it’s cleared by Friday as we’ve a day coach trip booked.

SachaMac Wed 08-Mar-23 18:13:24

Had quite a flurry here at lunch time (Derbyshire) but only a few odd flakes since, it’s bitterly cold though.

Kate1949 Wed 08-Mar-23 12:19:25

Snow today in Birmingham but it doesn't seem to be settling thankfully.

Anniebach Wed 08-Mar-23 12:09:34

Heavy snow in South Wales

FannyCornforth Wed 08-Mar-23 12:04:46

A few flakes here in Derby! smile

Callistemon21 Wed 08-Mar-23 11:12:24

1C - perfect for snow but feels like -4C

Callistemon21 Wed 08-Mar-23 11:11:42

About 5cm here and it's still snowing quite heavily.

We dont have to go out today and 🤞 it won't last.

Wheniwasyourage Wed 08-Mar-23 10:38:27

In this bit of Scotland we had about 10cm yesterday and a bit more overnight. It was about -6 on the max/min thermometer this morning. Very sunny today, so no doubt it will be cold again tonight.
