When you think of the time you are kept waiting sometimes it isn't as if they are hanging about waiting for custom.
Just like the dentist although they do charge for missed appointments but I have sat waitibg for up to 40 minutes to see him.

Never heard of that ! If my hairdresser did that my cancelled appointment would be the last appointment - I think that is outrageous 😦. I would definitely find another hairdresser !!!!

I've never heard of that for a hairdresser appointment. Good you could make it! I have fairly short hair and paid £47 for a haircut recently at a new (for me) salon. I should have asked of course. So I'd have been stewing over the waste if your situation applied in my case!

I made a hair appointment last week for this morning but something cropped up and I tried to cancel the appointment and postpone til next week. The receptionist told me that was possible but I would be liable for the full amount of the cancelled appointment as I should have cancelled at least 48 hours previously. Is this common practice? I understand that sometimes people dont show up for appointments without letting the salon know but I thought expecting minimum 48 hours notice unreasonable. As it happened, I was able to jiggle things around thanks to a kind friend and was able to keep the appointment.
