The use of words such as incredible , amazing and unbelievable for really quite ordinary events and when we are told that everybody loves…or everybody wants….etc when clearly I don’t.

Oh yes! A similar one that particularly riled me was a newspaper article by some evidently vacuous journalist, who wrote, ‘Let’s face it, we’re all obsessed with celebrities.’

But this week a customer has topped the charts of timewasters with 23 emails about the product he wanted to buy and USA custom regulations and after everything agreed inc change of product and me invoicing him, he cancelled.

Watch out, Tizliz, for some future complication or other involving that invoice - perhaps a claim that he paid it but hasn't received the goods? Keep his cancellation email safe!

luckily he is in USA and will need to go through UK courts, can't believe some people. Do they have a hobby of wasting other people's time?

Current 'small things' rant ... a jar of preserved lemons that is defying all attempts at opening it. I've even tried sneaking up on it in the dark but to no avail. Humph.

I’m quite sick of “lovely” although I have to plead guilty as charged- “lovely hairdresser, lovely cleaner, lovely gardener” and “you lovely ladies/people”

So overused it has become meaningless.

Most of what has already been mentioned irritates me too. Also, those female voices, often radio presenters, with strangled vowels.

I get quite annoyed when people ignore the quite explicit notice I have on my door about "no sales/charity/politcal/religious or callers without appointment." If I bother to activate the app to see whose at the door I often ask "Tell me do you have difficulty reading and understanding the King's English?"

The conversation then goes rapidly down hill from there.

Mostly I ignore the door unless Im expecting someone or a delivery. Delivery people have an "implied" appointment so long as the parcel is for me.

I get fed up with reviews too. The joys of selling online. At least you can automate them on Ebay.

lixy I have found that if you give a good thump to the centre of the jar lid with something heavy, (wooden rolling pin, my very old IKEA stainless steel garlic press both work) allows me to open the jar. releases the vacuum. Warning DO NOT HIT SIDE OF JAR. Has worked even when Mr T has been unable to open one for me.

lixy If you have one of the old-fashioned openers for drinks cans, tinned milk etc, you can put the end under the edge of the jar lid and lever it up slightly to release the vacuum. That is probably what your good thump does, but the can-opener takes less effort. A teaspoon handle of the right shape works for that too. Only lever it until it gives in, if you keep going long enough to bend the lid out of shape it doesn't close again properly.

Problem solved today - one of the good things about having builders in the house! Thanks for the suggestions.

What on earth am I meant to say about Evri deliveries. That they mostly just dump whatever I’ve ordered on the doorstep and don’t even bother to knock or ring the bell? Nearly Every.Single.Time.

Next time you have the jar lid problem: with a wooden spoon give the lid rim a short hard knock. It works.

Oh, most definitely, NotSpaghetti, but I wasn’t familiar with the terminology.

Yes why does food come in a tower these days? It also makes the plate look half empty. And why are some small desserts served on massive plates?

I agree with everything the Sago says. I would like to add the people who disagree with something that has been said and start with “With all due respect….” when usually they mean exactly the opposite.

Absolutely loathe the number of SUV's and now massive great trucks on the road! I live in an urban area so no need for them. Far too big for most car park spaces, hugely polluting and ugly.Was blocked in by two of them last week in ALDI car park and couldn't get back into my car.

I delete all requests for reviews unless the service is bad.

I just cannot believe people steal things from your holiday let!!!

We often use holiday lets for short UK breaks as we like to really escape from other people! We treat it with care and respect, always strip beds etc before leaving and leave all dirty laundry in one pile together, put anything we moved back into the right place, wash up and put away and give everything a quick wipe over. It’s very rude, disrespectful and criminal to steal!

Not bothered about reviewing, don’t like tower food!!

So many things seem to upset/irritate me these days, even though I try really hard “not to sweat the small stuff” hahaha

My list (which is literally never ending)

Bad manners generally
Poor table manners
Hair brushes in the kitchen (I know!)
My children!
My husband!
Most other drivers haha especially those who don’t indicate at roundabouts
Lack of lighting at night when I’m driving
Misuse/poor grammar, spelling and punctuation

Yep, I’m turning into a grumpy old woman! Or perhaps my dear departed mother, who “couldn’t be doing” with most things 😂😂😂😂

Do have a sense of humour though and not quite as grumpy as I sound
