I totally agree Franbern. I am in awe of all the young people who are trying to get their voices heard against the genocide in which this country is complicit. There is a level of hypocrisy in having a minute’s silence for people who died in the wars in which this country has been involved. The war against Iraq was illegal. This country had no business in Afghanistan either. They spent 13 years killing, wreaking havoc and destroying the country - at the behest of the USA. The UK is currently supporting Israel in Yemen, Lebanon and Palestine. Israel is doing its best to provoke a war with Iran. The poppy police were also out in force. Where do the proceeds from sales of poppies go ? To people who have been engaged in warmongering.

Maybe this stupid woman should be taken to Gaza to see for herself how women are treated there! There is a great deal of difference in our way of living & letting people protest than in most Arab countries! If she survived a visit there then on return she may have had a change of opinion! Not having seen her do wonder if she is Arab herself & if so should be there with all the young men over here protesting. They should be fighting for their countries not here protesting when they just wind up people wanting to Remember in peace!

Usually collections are made during a hymn, never during prayers as far as I know.

I’m sorry but if I had been there I would have knocked her flying, regardless of getting arrested myself. Both my parents lost family in both wars. Revolting people.

I'm absolutely sick of the way that protesters from both camps are disruptive and disrespectful at suck important times as the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month.
Today during PMQs the were questions, from Muslim MPs, about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and potential failing support when Donald Trump assumes the Presidency in January and what we (the UK would do) and I was pleased to see Keir Starmer being brave enough to simply remind them about the 7th of October last year and to say no more.

Whilst I don't condone this woman's behaviour she exercised a freedom the fallen died for us to have !

Totally agree with franbern above should be trying to help people in Gaza and anywhere else people are being brutally killed isn't that better showing lessons have beenlearnt

Indeed she did, but then spitting in their faces instead of saying thank you. She could protest at any time outside of those two minutes but chose to deliberately offend and hurt the people present. I think that says much about her.

My Dad was on the Arctic convoys to Russia and I thought of him during the two minutes silence - if that lady had been present where I was, I would have applauded her. No need to glorify the whole remembrance thing - these people did make the ultimate sacrifice but had absolutely no choice in the matter. My Dad would be horrified to see what's going on in Gaza and the slaughter of innocents.

My Dad was on the Arctic convoys to Russia and I thought of him during the two minutes silence - if that lady had been present where I was, I would have applauded her. that's the point, there was no two minute silence, she felt her shouting and ranting was far more important, and you applauding her would have further disrupted the silence others wanted to observe. My mother's cousin died having been shot down over Holland at the age of 20. He was trying to stop Hitler's march through Europe, but not considered worthy of two minutes of thoughtful, silent reflection. Sad times.

Well, here is one person who thought of those who had died, those who came back changed but also found time during that two minutes silence to pray silently for the people in Ukraine, Gaza and the Israeli hostages.

Surely it is possible to reconcile the 2 minute silence with working and praying for peace. They go hand in hand and are not mutually exclusive but there is a time and a place for protest and in my opinion it was not then.

If people think it's good to protest, scream, shout or even clap during a two minutes silence to remember all those lost in wars then they are disrespecting them all, including those killed in today's conflicts.

Absolutely disgraceful!

It's disrespectful and offensive. No excuses. My family have been bought up to value the people that gave their lives fir us, they didn't have a tomorrow. They should be ashamed but obviously don't care as long as they get their point over. It just alienates them from any argument in my book.

Remembrance Sunday is now past and the service and procession passed without incident. I think while the few World War 2 veterans that are left fought to preserve the young generation's right to speak out and protest, the service and provession should not be disrupted. At least they had the good sense not to disrupt an event millions consider very important to this country.

Yes, they fought for their freedom too and we should at least be able to respect their memory once a year at least.
