Good for your mum! I wish her well with her new dresses in next year's sunshine.

Good for her, let her order as many as she wants, it's keeping her going. My Ma died quite young also my Pa died at 60. Enjoy every second with her life is sweet.

Your Mum is an amazing woman! Good for her I know she will enjoy wearing her new dresses. You are so fortunate to have her , my Mum died some years ago aged 92 - I miss her every day.

My lovely Mil lived to 101, did meals on Wheels until she was in her 80s and was older than any of her customers. In her last year of life she said that everything about her was slowing up except time!

Well done to your Mum, hope she gets to wear those dresses and we have the sunshine to go with them!

Oh I love these stories! Thank you for sharing them all. 😊

My stepfather’s brother is 99 and had a fall last month. Was in hospital for two weeks. Sent home with care package 4x a day as he lives alone. He thanked the carers after 10 days and said”thank you, I can manage now. You can call on others who need you more than I do.” He told this to my stepfather on the phone on Sunday. He was just cooking his own Sunday lunch and planned to sit down and enjoy it with a small glass of 🍷

Well done her!

Maybe it's that generation that just "keep on" with living.

At 95 mum needed a new television, and wouldn’t contemplate one that didn’t offer a 5 year warranty, which we thought was somewhat optimistic.

She lived to 101.

My mother-in-law, aged 100, has just bought a new TV with an extended warranty - it runs for 10 years!

I only hope I’m as positive and optimistic as your Mum, if I live that long surfingsal. May she enjoy her Summer dresses. ♥️

Never give up. Good for her.

nanaK54 Thu 19-Dec-24 20:36:29

She sounds like a very special lady, everything crossed that she gets to wear her dresses.

Esmay Thu 19-Dec-24 20:24:35

Bless her .
May she wear those dresses in the summer and prove the doctors wrong .

Your mum sounds a cracker and a great role model.

J52 Thu 19-Dec-24 20:04:15

I like her style!

JamesandJon33 Thu 19-Dec-24 20:03:34

My mum was like that. Given she was likely to die before Christmas, she was out planting spring bulbs in November .

GrannyGravy13 Thu 19-Dec-24 19:48:33

I hope she lives long enough to wear them

RosiesMaw2 Thu 19-Dec-24 19:46:51

Good for her!

My mother is 95 has had bladder cancer for years and now has kidney cancer , she is now receiving palliative care and is becoming quite frail, she lives opposite me so I see her all the time, she phoned me up and said could I pop over , she was on her tablet ordering some summer dresses that were in a sale and she wasn't sure of the colour ! she ended up ordering all the colours, I hope I will be as optimistic as she is if I reach that age.
