Where’s my …?

Mine usually says “ I’ve lost my…..” and my answer is “no you haven’t you just can’t find it”. Next question from me “when did you last have it?” etc. DH gets in such a panic that I usually end up helping him look for it. He’s been very lucky in that people have found his wallet outside, his phone in the shopping centre and such. I’ve just come to accept as part of life’s rich pattern. It’s just not good for me to get too stressed out.

I’m pretty sure lots of us will become more forgetful as we get older.

My DH must be your DH’a twin he does all these things as well as today dropping his keys outside & not even knowing , a passing stranger knocked with them , We have had knocks in our front door with his bank card at not only this address but others we have lives at !
Glasses , Phones , wallets .
i brought him a beautiful leather wallet slim enough for trouser pockets , no he kept mislaying it , so he brought him self the biggest ugliest ( in my opinion ) & still never knows where it is .
My mantra , put things in the same place . 🤪🤪

re the supermarket , that happened today DH rang to say that M&S didn’t have ‘ Food bin liners ‘ as they called Caddy Bin Liners lol

Oh I’m so glad I’m the only one . I’d add hearing aids to my DH list . He’s had them for 6 months and can’t get in the habit of wearing them daily .
I like the idea of a basket though . We have a wooden box for keys , a long way from the front door , and a drawer for glasses , earbuds and sunglasses .

Tenko , We also have a hook for keys one for Front door / car & another for sheds / garage / bikes or whatever.
Also a bowl type thing for mainly for DH wallet . I have now designated a drawer for glasses & wallet but fear it may become a ‘junk drawer’ which i’ve never had so may have to rethink !

Nobody is being ungrateful 🙄

Glad to see it isn't just my DH. I usually reply, "It's where we usually keep the [insert name of thing he "can't find"]." It also used to happen with other males I've shared a house with - I can only assume that nobody told them to lift other stuff out of the way in the relevant cupboard/drawer. I don't want to start a gender war, but would that have been their mothers, possibly? We reap what we sow. Don't moan and get it for him yourself - leave him to it. He'll learn.

Tonight a passing stranger knocked with DH ‘Car & Door keys 🔑’
For that we are grateful as it was already dark & DH had no idea he’d dropped them .

Where's my?.... and Have you seen my?... are constant questions in my house. I'm usually the one making the plea. Mostly it's glasses and hearing aids, but it can be anything from pencils and pens to gloves and hats. Husband's infuriating answer is usually "wherever you left them".

Yes, my pain-in-the-proverbial is the same. I used to try and prompt him to think where he was when he last used/saw the item, but this used to erupt into a row/accusatory comments. So now I just say 'no' and let him find it himself.
The latest was his erupting that there were no clean bath towels in the airing cupboard, in the tone of voice which suggested we had been burgled for the sake of a few ratty well used towels..
On this occasion I was eventually able to tell him (in between the ranting) that the pile of fresh towels was in the bedroom the airing cupboard is in, just hadn't been put in the cupboard if he'd bothered to look with his eyes instead of his mouth.....

Worse, it's not 'where is my....' it's 'where have you hidden my.....'

I've lost my glasses is the one I hear all the time. 'NO' you have put them down somewhere. They are not lost!!!!!

Mr A can find nothing in a cupboard unless it is located right at the very front........he never considers moving other things to find what he is looking for. Same for the fridge!

I know where it is. It's on a flat surface.

I have made the innocent mistake of saying when did you last have it. It’s ended in a ridiculous argument that was totally out of context now when I am asked have you seen? I simply don’t respond. The lost item is always found in a ridiculous place like the fridge so I say nothing life is too short.

And I’ve lost the bottom half of the box belonging to the jigsaw I’ve just finished. It’s not under or behind the sofa and it’s too big to fit in a box…

I’ve asked DH where it is. Apparently he’s no idea either.

As we speak, I am wondering where I left my car keys. Fortunately, I have a spare set. Tomorrow, a detailed search will be conducted !

When my teenage grand daughter asks this and is told where it is she often comes back and says it’s not there. My daughter then says “ hang on Ill come and look with my mummy eyes” and then finds it straight away. Grandaughter is usually not impressed!

Where's my pen. I probably say this 3 or 4 times a day. Not a pen type pen , one of those with the little rubber type material on the end for ease of scrolling.

Well, Curlywhirly, just don’t let him ring off until he has walked to where you sent him, and is actually holding the item in his hand! If he insists there isn’t one there tell him to photograph the gap where it should be! Some men are a nightmare. Thankfully, my late husband wasn’t, and, in fact, he was better at it than I was!
