Concerts - to sing along or not?

It seems to the thing these days that you don't go to a concert to hear the artist, but to screech as loud as you can while 'joining in'. I would be loath to pay all that money to see someone and then be stuck beside a screaming banshee who wants to sing along with every word. AIBU?

Just after I was reading this thread the other day, this popped up on my YouTube feed:

I remember going to see The Beatles in concert in the 60s and couldn't hear them singing due to the deluge of constant screaming, but I was taken up with the atmosphere at the time and I was glad I went to see them in the flesh! Since then I have been to several different types of concerts and I would only sing along when invited to do so by the performer. Some people seem to think they are in their own living room and are oblivious to them spoiling other people's enjoyment.

My 9 year old went to see The Beatles =, Birmingham Town Hall 1972 or 3. Hordes of sobbing teenagers. She came out looking less than delighted because ‘The big girls were all standing up and screaming!’

Y A N B U

It would drive me crazy!!

Imagine what it was like during Beatles-mania with people (women) crying and screaming over them, like having orgasms!! Good god, I'd have had to gag them!!!
