32 outside just now and I am managing to keep my living room at 26. I had an hour outside yesterday, in the heat, I had a job to do and it didn`t take long for my body to feel the effects. As soon as possible, I went indoors and had water with a pinch of salt
Yes perspiring is good, the whole of my body was soaking this morning after breakfast, A cool wash and no drying helped. I spent the whole of the rest of today working on a sewing project, I have a dyson pedestal fan in the doorway to my sewing room, which faces E/SE so gets the full sun blast until about 2pm. I work with windows closed, insulating reflective perfect fit blinds on the window plus pale wooden plantation shutters, fully closed. It is a good mix, as good as can be
No outside anything, until this evening and at least now at 2.45 I can have all the shutters opened on the E/SE side, I see daylight
Appetite is poor just now, sleeping is not good and my body was born in january, I like cold and went to iceland for a holiday once, loved it, the cold and the rain
I would like an awning but not worth it as they do deteriorate with uv and anyway don`t stop a low sun. We used to live in a genuine eco house and had a verandah but that house still got too hot, heat sink walls and a heat sink floor
The hospitals will be having many heat casualties, not just the oldies
