AIBU to be feeling actually depressed at the prospect of yet another heatwave? I thought I liked summer. Now I don’t even want to go outside. It’s going to be a long weekend….( and after cooling down next week, I think it’s heating up for the fourth time after that.)

36 degrees here. The mayor has warned of fire risks on the dunes.
Loads of weird jellyfish. 🪼 🪼

Our house faces N/S so everything closed on the S side everything opened on the N. Seems to be fairly successful.
I make myself go out an expose my lower back to the sun for about 20mins each day in the hope it will sort out my psoriasis. I only have a small persistent patch at the base of my spine so that’s the only, bit that sees the sun.

My house was built in 1988 and is well-insulated. I find it cold indoors, but it has taken a few days to warm up. If I switched on a fan I would be reaching for a cardigan and more!

I sleep well with my bedroom window closed and I cover myself with a dressing gown, but my 15 tog duvet is not far away. I have used it this week!

I find it too hot to walk 10 minutes to the bus stop, as I no longer drive, so I opt for online shopping.

Inside my house is fine for me, but I doubt if anybody else could tolerate it.

Whole country is not getting it! First we've had this summer...loving it!

Oh I’m hating this weather. Our lounge faces south west, we have the doors closed and the blinds shut, we’re so hot !
We have a tower fan on
full blast and it’s just blowing the hot air around but better than nothing.
Roll on Monday it’s going to be a long weekend.

I’ve lost control of the breeze from the fan. My big ginger cat has discovered its joy and lays in front of it all day. I don’t mind, this weather must be awful wearing a fur coat.

I put ice cubes in his water fountain too.

Excuse the mess, I’m moving house and packing boxes are everywhere 😊

He looks exhausted!
Yes, a fur coat must be warm. I suppose cats can't be groomed either.

We have an air con system in our conservatory. Full blast on cold , with all outside doors closed and inside doors open….bliss

Wonderful innit?

Yes the weather is hot and it’s important to behave accordingly. Drink plenty and don’t exert yourself. It’s not really a big deal.
What I hate is snow and ice. I get too nervous to drive or walk when it’s slippery. The whiteness of the snow hurts my eyes and gives me bad headaches.
I know which type of weather I prefer!!

Agreed, behave accordingly. sunshine

Soon enough it will be cold. ❄︎

Have never liked the heat, never will. I was working in Wales in 1976. So I remember it well
Winter can’t come soon enough for me, I was so glad when the longest day came and went…
Maybe being born in February has something to do with it 🤷‍♀️

Sensible boy! My long haired black cat lays out in the sun half the time.

I read somewhere that if you place a shallow bowl of ice in front of the tower fan, it makes the air it blows out cooler. I haven’t tried it though.

26C in bedroom but Alexa controlled fan is lovely - thanks to grandson doing his tech magic earlier...

I work in a car park in a DIY store in Essex. I dread going to work on really hot days like tomorrow. It’s great in winter though!

Wimbledon and a heatwave……..wonderful !

I love summer and long light evenings. Visiting DD yesterday and her toddler, however, I was reminded of how difficult it was with tiny ones in the heat. All of mine were born in the height of summer, and I remember trying to keep babies cool in a baking hot house.

This is the coolest year of the new climate. It gets hotter every year from now on.
