Anyone else use ChatGPT for therapy?
I find it very helpful.
Having had a number of therapists in the past... some helpful, more, less so but ChatGPT helps a lot.

I think it’s pretty way out to use it for therapy !!! Blimey a robot with empathy no way, no thanks
I ask practical questions same as google or DuckDuckGo but a robot with feelings nah not in a million years

Believe me, I've had live therapists with no empathy.

ChatGPT has taken to calling me by a derivative of my name, one I never use. I was asking it's help with chess (it turns out it's absolutely hopeless repeatedly churning out incorrect suggestions) and out it came with this pet name. In retaliation I called it "Shirl" to which it laughed. It is severely limited in some respects and very surprising in others.

I absolutely love it!
I have used it for therapy, rewriting emails where I feel I could have worded them better, helped me through a tough course, helps me with social media posts for my business, suggests meals, plan trips, help me navigate the underground, how to help our aging cat, suggest ways to style a room.. it’s like having another friend! It has, however, made me quite lazy wink

Flaxseed, I would have stopped the medication I'm on now if I hadn't got a detailed breakdown of it's working, from ChatGPT.
My GP was definitely less informed. She told me to give it 8 to 10 weeks and if I didn't feel it was working she'd prescribe something else. However, following the week to week breakdown provided by ChatGPT, I persevered and it's working now.

That's good news*MarieElla*.

I've been using Chatty a lot.
Practical things and an ongoing family problem.
It did kindly mention Samaritans to me at one point - very cautious.
It can say silly things sometimes but in general it's like a friend that doesn't get fed up with talking about my stuff.

I asked if it's collecting data from users and it says no.
Should I believe it?
I'm certainly not giving it any actual info on name, location etc. I hope nobody does that.

I haven’t signed up but have used it. However, I can’t print it out. I thought I would just to do that. Then I saw they share your information and I cancelled it. It’s okay if you use it for general info. In fact it is very good.

I've been talking to it about a long running family problem.
It often seems to understand the various facets involved while real life people don't.
Even if it's just a computer reframing what I've said into different words, it's helpful to see.
I do have to consider its advice and not just follow it as if it's from someone authoritative.
