How are the fans faring in the humidity of Miami?
Not seeing so much on Facebook just now.
Does there need to be a new by-election rule?
Favourite small treat when feeling blue or conversely a bit flush
I am not Scottish neither am I an avid football fan .
However, I couldn’t help but be impressed with the way that the Scottish fans have been treated, welcomed & enjoyed &!added to the atmosphere in Providence Boston .
Not normally a person who will scroll through reels , yesterday I did just that caught up with all the joyous moments of videos on line .
The many many stories .
Watching Police join in the dancing , don a Scottish shirt .
One bar owner ordered 3 times as much as he did for the last huge event & that went on record time .
To the now famous placing of Traffic cones onto statues .
A tradition that started in the 1980’s by a late night drinker in Glasgow , by pacing cone in the head of The Duke of Wellington. The Police removed it , it was put back & so it continued & became a “ thing “ “ a tradition “ which is joyous to see across the pond , I even saw one place by a fan using a cherry picker .
Boston twinned with Glasgow
Haggis being made legal in Boston
The Mayor placing her own traffic cone onto a statue.
The marching band
So many men in Kilts ,
One American couple flew from Texas to
Boston to experience the whole thing .
A retired Uk expat gave away a ticket he was selling (£838) to a young fan who had been scammed .
I’m sure you get the picture here & if you start looking at these instagram reels you will too .
Yes I am somewhat obsessed .
I am in awe of the whole joyful feeling they are giving & maybe the birth rate of Scottish /American babies may rise in 9 months .
It’s a huge thing for Scotland to be at the World Cup championships .
They are doing Scotland proud .

Google it Maremia then you’ll know the facts rather than surmising.
I take it they scraped through.
Good Luck Scotland Tonight 🏴⚽🏴⚽🏴⚽

Gentle question,
did they win outright, or scrape in on the List?
Gentle response. Consider that asking a question to which one knows the answer is passive aggressive behaviour.
Unless of course NanaJaaJaa you’re employing dry wit? 😁

I have been loving this myself. It's such a lovely time to see a lot of boozed up men and women who are only there for a really good craic and aren't interested in causing any trouble. I reckon there is going to be a baby boom in Boston in about 9 months time and a lot of those babies could well have Scottish DNA lol. Honestly cannot get enough of these reels Always bring a really big smile to my face
Along with the OP that’s another comment about a Scottish baby boom in 9 months time.
It’s considered funny in Scotland to think that US girls and women will be left holding the baby?
Of course that’s what often happens with armies but there’s no war.
Love the video of massed pipers on Miami Beach 🏴
Is it divisive to want to run your OWN country without interference from your next door neighbour ?
Would those on here think that way if they had to ask France before they could pass laws? Of course not that’s what they said Brexit was about!
There is a public holiday every year in over 60 countries worldwide….its Independence from the dis United Kingdom.
Were all these countries divisive?
None of them have begged to come back. Not even Malta a tiny nation who was constantly told they were too wee and too poor to run themselves…..just as they tell Scotland .
All while Westminster steals our assets and pockets the profits .
YES I do believe that on our own the people of Scotland could have done far better in charge of our own affairs .
It’s not divisive Independence is normal!

StoneofDestiny you do yourself no favours with so many anti English comments.
Is it anti-English to voice your delight at Scottish behaviour?

No outright wins, they are all list MSPs.
I am so pleased that Boston and Scotland have thoroughly embraced and enjoyed these last weeks..

People proud of their country and their culture. An inclusive, sharing culture that draws people in. So much to learn from them - opposite of the nonsense of divisive ‘patriotism’ that’s haunting so many towns in England particularly right now - ironically exported from Trump followers in the US and paid for by them!
Could those striving for Scotland's "Independence" not be described as devisive "patriots", just a thought.
Gentle reminder - there are currently 17 Reform Members sitting in the Scottish Parliament.

Kyle Renton is the credit for the Tartan Army article, Reid's Food simply reposted it. You might like to follow Kyle Renton www.facebook.com/share/p/17gzjmvyio/
As a Scot thank you so much ! What kind words. The Tartan Army have been just great.
StoneofDestiny you do yourself no favours with so many anti English comments
Oreo - not sure I’ve made any anti English comments.
I’m certainly anti right wing so called ‘patriots’ that divide communities.
Granny Gravy I don't know if they're teaching No Scotland, no party in nursery schools but my 41/2 year old grandson is going around singing it. When I asked him he said nursery. Not sure if he's getting a bit confused.
I'm not a football fan but even I am a bit more interested this year as it 's the first time in 26 years (don't quote me on that) we've made a world cup. I think we know we'll never win but we always keep our fingers crossed. I'm so proud of the reputation the Tartan Army has abroad.
Amazing how many USA police officers have posted about how good the Scots fans have been.
Think the Tartan Army joy has given folk stateside some relief from their ongoing tribulations.
An awful lot of Americans will have Scottish heritage in their family going back 100s of years. The east coast of USA and Canada were the obvious prime settling spots until some ventured west.
Great to see the welcome the fans received, obviously a great boost to the local economy. Not sure Americans would receive a similar welcome in Scotland, there being an awful lot of how precious Scotland is these days and unless your Scottish you won't understand.
We've seen the fun and Scottish pride on the news and on social media. What fun, and wonderful to bring the love of sport over.
We have been watching the fun that is happening in Vancouver; it was a sea of red for the Canada vs Qatar game, now the Aussies have taken over the stadium area in green and gold. Apparently between the Canuks and the Aussies, several bars have run out of beer! No unruly behavior so far, it's all been good fun.
Usually if there’s trouble it’s sectarian …The Tartan Army has supporters from all teams and none and have built up a great reputation over decades.
Seems English fans were arrested for throwing plants pots over the balcony of a pub and singing offensive songs….maybe they need to learn representing their country at fan level is just as important as on the field .
Criticise us where it’s due but in this caseitvertainly isn,t !

Yes, Scottish football fans are all warm caring saints. They never ever get drunk and cause trouble even in Scotland.😉
No-one in their right mind would claim that to be the case, but it is fairly well acknowledged that the Tartan Army are well received wherever they travel. And even at a club level, there are many supporters who do great things for local charities when they travel overseas to support their team. We're not all a nation of drunken a***holes!
