Every year it gets utterly crammed by visitors witnessing the various bonfire societies and their parade through the town. It is anarchic and fun. Part of our cultural history.

411 years on from the Gunpowder Plot it's about time to ditch 'celebrations' of this ancient event with explosives!

If anyone is caught in a public place with a knife they are liable to be detained and possibly prosecuted.
