Ok, so you go in a shop, petrol station and are presented with a card proclaiming that if you enter code that is printed on your car - YOU CAN WIN A CAR, A HOLIDAY, THOUSANDS IF POUNDS !!!

My question is, has anyone ever won on these things ?

I've never won a flippin sausage.

printed on your CARD

Callistemon21 Fri 28-Jan-22 12:42:46

The only thing I've ever won is rubbish raffle prizes!

No, I've never net anyone who has won such delights although a group at work won a few thousands on the lottery (not my team, unfortunately)

I’ve never been given a card such as you describe.

Callistemon21 Fri 28-Jan-22 13:14:21

Actually, I thought this might be a thread by Gransnet offering prizes!

Disappointed now

Why is it in AIBU?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 28-Jan-22 13:29:40

I’ve never seen one of these cards.

Serendipity22 Fri 28-Jan-22 13:47:31

Ohh they like the size of a store card/bank card and the person operating the till dishes them out to the customer with a look of great glee....
Pfft, ive never won a flippin thing.

I take a photo of the 1 dished out today at petrol station and post it on here... then its going in THE BIN haaa

Serendipity22 Fri 28-Jan-22 13:53:53

The card

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 28-Jan-22 14:08:53

Nope. Never had one. Perhaps it’s a regional thing?

Serendipity22 Fri 28-Jan-22 14:10:13

The card ...

Serendipity22 Fri 28-Jan-22 14:19:16

Its like a prize draw card.

Yes maybe its regional i dunno.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 28-Jan-22 14:26:13

Keep on trying, you never know…😊

Serendipity22 Fri 28-Jan-22 14:31:14

Very true.... i wont throw it in the bin then.

If i enter the code and send it off you can bet that it will be 10p off my next fill up of petrol....

Tut tut, its not worth the time to put the code in hahaha.....angry

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 28-Jan-22 15:07:52

Every little helps!

Jaxjacky Fri 28-Jan-22 15:43:55

Looks like Shell garages, none round here.

sazz1 Fri 28-Jan-22 16:32:09

I've won £70 on the lottery and £5 a few times. Also years ago £250 on a local lottery for a football club and a £50 argos voucher. Nothing life changing sadly

ValerieF Fri 28-Jan-22 17:17:19

So long as they don’t ask you for bank details/payment to process etc then no harm in filling it in. Remember there are millions of people who will enter. I’ve never been lucky but my brother did once win a car! Fabulous car too. Not from same thing but something similar that didn’t require any payment upfront! So I keep entering ANYTHING I don’t part with my bank details. 🤔. Not had same luck bahaha 🤣

Anything to get you to sign up to their websites so they can send you loads of junk email, or just tease you that that big prize 'could' be just around the corner!

mumofmadboys Sat 29-Jan-22 07:13:59

Has anyone ever won anything when you get a free spin of the wheel of fortune when you submit a gas or electric reading on Octopus? I haven't!

Serendipity22 Sat 29-Jan-22 09:15:55

I think Ali08 summed it up, they dangle the carrot, you send your email address and then your prize is a truck load of junk mail.....

Mollygo Sat 29-Jan-22 09:43:06

TOFS always give me a scratch card when I buy anything from there. I once won a pack of tea towels and another time £5 off your next purchase. They also have a bin by the door for you to drop your no-win cards in once you’ve scratched them.
