That blue is definitely a bit much!

The client was no spring chicken either. I don't know if she slept alone, but I have never fancied being the one by the wall in a bed and climbing over the other to get to the lol!

I don't always open my eyes when I get up to go to the lol in the night, so I'd come a cropper with a high bed pretty quickly!

I do love being an armchair judge!

How many rooms have high enough ceilings to cope with a 'lamp' that tall? And using blue tack!

It must be very hard to think under pressure like that, but these two were supposed to be creative and it looked like they had the same choice from the van as the two from last week. Holly and Frankie did a much better job and as the judges said last week, finish is important because it was about showing what you can do in the time given. Hey ho.

I hate the idea of the high bed, all that getting in and out at night!A couple of years ago we stayed in an old cottage which had an old fashioned high bed, and DH was very amused that I had to use the kitchen step to get into bed like a child.

I thought the 'table lamp' idea was monstrous and a waste of some rather sweet tables that I could have upcycled. Having said that, I was thinking today [I do that sometimes ] when we were travelling back from Nottingham of what I would do if someone asked me to come up with a truly original idea and I couldn't think of a single thing .

The problem with Lucy's box bed was she did something in between the styles you normally see. With a high bed you need a step to help you get in and out, especially with such big side pieces. The step can usually be moved out of the way to get at the storage space below the bed, which was the point of having a high bed. I think that's perhaps what her client would have expected. Lower beds without steps are usually for children.

I think her problem with the toy boxes was you can shove anything in them. I thought that was the point of a toy box and Rob did 2 smaller boxes rather than one big one, so that was even better in my opinion. They can be dumping places, but for a quick tidy up, what could be easier for a young child? Maybe she has a nanny to help with the children miaow!

Tegan your coat stand would become a standard lamp if it was on the show!

I did like Lucy's bedroom, I just didn't think it was very well done in places. Folksy doesn't automatically mean rough.

I don't understand why Sophie said the toy box in the boys room was too big. I don't think any toy box can be 'too big' . Bought another couple of bargains today...chairs for painting and reupholstering and the coat stand I just love, although no idea what I'm going to do with it ...

nina I disagree about the storage issue. I believe good design is about far more than prettiness-it has to actually work in a practical sense.

I liked both rooms last night, it was a difficult call for the judges.

Tegan, your bargains look great. Do you watch Fixer Uppers on ITVbe? It is American and a bit samey, but some of the artefacts she uses are imaginative, I like looking for them on the programme.

Now it's getting good !

I loved Lucy's Scandi Folk art room - at last something I really like - so much so that I'm going to do it to a mirror tonight !!

Rob's phone must be ringing off the wall with orders from mega wealthy parents who look upon a bespoke bedroom for their kids as the norm.

He doesn't need to win the competition.

Lucy's voice drives me mad as well. Sounds like a creaky gate.

Well I loved Lucy's Scandinavian room although I agree that some of the decorative painting was a bit rough, but then it was supposed to be folksy.

I thought Rob did an excellent job with the batman room but overall I've hated his schemes. That dark blue room was a nightmare so glad Lucy went through.

I too think the judges are a pain and only interested in current fads, and I do wish they'd drop that stupid upcycling thing with bits if rubbish. Nobody has made anything decent with any of it and it just uses up precious time that should be spent doing the rooms.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who thinks her voice is annoying. I would have chosen Rob to go through to the next round. I think the problem with the bed is it should have had a step to make it easier to get in and out. The art work on the wardrobe was poorly done and the judges were right about the decoration on the curtains being too little and too low. It was like she didn't do her research properly. I don't think she stands a chance against the likes of Frankie.

I'm another one who thought Rob should have gone through, he was much more inventive. I loved his Lego and bat lights.

Lucy's design although I did like the look, could have been achieved with a quick Google and a look at Pininterest.

Her voice also drove me up the wall, the nazel drawl seemed to disappear at the end. Maybe it was a stress thing

Same here but I thought her bedroom design tonight was fabulous. However, I hope I'm never a guest in that house as the bed looked like a nightmare to get in and out of [which I have to do several times each night these days ]....[or should I say these nights]

I'm so surprised Rob didn't go through. I thought he was very talented, what's more Lucy drives me up the wall with the way she talks.

Just watched last night's episode in time for tonight. I wasn't keen on any of the rooms, but I hated Rob's blue room and I love blue. I didn't like the sofa blocking the views, her presentation was dreadful as was her wallpaper sculpture and chandelier. And not planning any concealed storage wasa big mistake. Her client was probably so bamboozled by her presentation that she didn't notice the lack of concealed storage at the time. Plus her voice grates on me.

I would have kept Angelica and sent Lucy home.

On Monday I think the judges sent the right person home. I liked Lucy's bedroom until she produced the tacky tacky lightshade.

Tegan I think all of the contestants will already be doing work so they can build up a portfolio. My guess is the ones with well planned mood boards are the more experienced. Lucky you having someone so hands on, it must be great fun!

I was told by someone in a local shop that the contestants in previous programmes weren't amateur at all and that they'd seen them at trade fairs. I get the feeling that the contestants this time are genuine amateurs. I'm still enjoying it though, as I'm currently 'dressing' a little house that the S.O. has bought in Northumberland. He spends all day painting walls and I walk around re arranging pictures and candlesticks! But we're also going to a lot of charity shops and auctions looking for bargains and I can't remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much. The house also has a large empty garage for me to paint the furniture in. These are some of my 'bargains'.

I wasn't keen on any of the rooms, one too beige and brown, one with way too much royal blue and a black floor with white bits, ugh.The other too pale and boring.I love the series though.

gettingonabit the client wanted hidden storage, it would have been sacrilege to box in those lovely shaped alcoves.
