bookdreamer. I am knitting cannula sleeves to give to hospitals. If a person with dementia has a cannula inserted in their arm, they tend to pull it out. A sleeve with texture and colour distracts them from that. If you are on facebook, go to 'handmade for dementia north west and uk'. There is a lady called Sharon who organises it and she received an award on BBC just before Christmas. There are quite strict instructions for safety reasons.

I have to cross off my patterns so always photocopy the original and work on the copy. I am just trying to get my confidence back with knitting as I hadn't done any for years. I have just finished a chunky fisherman's rib jumper for DGS but really struggled with it. Back in the day I used to do Arans and Icelandic jumpers no problem but really struggle with my concentration now.

Nelliemoser when I'm working on a pattern like that I write it all down row by row and cross it off as I do each one otherwise i get in a complete muddle.
Maybe doing that will help you or is it the abbreviations you don't understand?

Well, I thought I had it and typed it out but no!

So I drew a zig zag pattern upwards and wrote k, p on each line and decrease where indicated which may be the best way to do it but I can't do it on here.

However, carry on decreasing the raglan as before in every knit row but I think you will have to use a row counter to decrease on the front edge as follows:

Row one (Next Row in instructions) knit and decrease at front and raglan
Row two (Next Row in instructions): Purl
Row three: knit and decrease at raglan
Row four: Purl
Row five: knit and decrease at raglan
Row six: Purl and decrease at front (end of row)
Row seven: Knit and decrease at raglan
Row eight: Purl
Row nine: Knit and decrease at raglan
Row ten: Purl
Row eleven: Knit and decrease at front and raglan

Then continue, decreasing at raglan on every other row and decreasing at front edge on every fifth row.
Every other time the decrease on the front edge will be on a purl row.

If you include the first two instruction rows, that will be 32 rows altogether.

I think that's right, perhaps someone else may work it out differently

Help Needed Please. I am in a dreadful muddle with A King Cole pattern . This is in theory as simple cardigan front.
This is what I am up against the complete gobble de gook in the pattern. I can manage the Raglan but I cannot visualise the instructions from the FrontEdge

"SHAPE FRONT EDGE"

I am sorry this is such small print. You will have to see the Raglan instructions first and toggle between the two pictures but it is the Front Edge details where I have completely lost the plot.
