Seeing for the NHS

A local 'Next door ' group has also started the same in my area. I don't sew but they are asking for people to knit pairs of hearts for the NHS too. It's to give to families who have lost loved- ones to the virus or can't be with them in the final hours. The patient has one and the family has one. Have just made the first one and they are quick and easy to make.

I am in a local Scrub hub. It’s all over the country. I make scrubs for hospitals, care homes and hospices. These are made to order from the organisations. There’s lots of volunteers in my area. Some are professionals who aren’t working.

There are a lot of scrub-making groups around the country *LullyDully" Anyone who is interested should look on the internet, either search on Google or try Facebook.

A neighbour today asked for any old sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, etc., for a local sewing group to make scrubs, used-kit bags, etc. for the NHS.

Good opportunity for sorting out the airing cupboard! I’ve donated quite a bit that we no longer use.
I’d like to say I’d offer to sew, but my machine is very old now, has never been serviced, and was feeling a bit stiff last time I used it, so not sure it’d be up to any major sewing now.

I was contacted by a friend about a Facebook request for scrub wash bags. Easy and quick to do so set to work but the Facebook person hasn’t got back after saying she would pick things up or you could deliver to her. Hope she’s not got the virus.
