Halloween ideas?

I've made around 24 of these.
A teeny weeny bit fiddly but when in the zone, quite satisfying.
They're around 2 1/2 inches, so not huge.

I have a few ideas how to utilise them.
But wondered if someone else had any ideas too?

I made this wreath at a class last week, really enjoyed making it and looks lovely on the front door. Hoping it will last until I put the Christmas one up.

Sacha that's lovely.

Witzend Sat 22-Oct-22 09:11:59

That’s beautiful, Sacha! I hope it lasts well for you!

Thank you ? ?

Yesterday I was rummaging through a very over-stuffed drawer for something, when I came across this - I’d completely forgotten it - made for rather younger Gdcs to put their T and T goodies in, only I never got around to the 2nd because a) I didn’t think it turned out at all well, plus on the small side, and b) I’m useless at embroidery, so doing the face was a major PITA - I had to undo and start again several times, and it’s still nowt to shout about.

I might offer it to Gdc3 now, though - she’s only 2 3/4 and might like it anyway, and I know the two elder won’t feel slighted once I’ve explained.

Witzend that is cute and deserves to be used

SachaMac Sat 22-Oct-22 19:54:46

It’s lovely Witzend I’m sure your Gdc3 will be delighted with it.

What talented ladies you are! I love all the photos, very creative and artistic.
The most creative I get is making a pot of soup... I bought DGS2 some Halloween books from Asda today.

Brilliant Grannmarie Is that a bag or book in the centre?
Will you be reading to him or is he old enough to do so himself?

Namsnanny Sun 23-Oct-22 18:20:26

So beautiful. Well done! when will you start making the Christmas one?

Namsnanny Sun 23-Oct-22 18:21:12

Namsnanny, where did you find the pattern for your pumpkin, please?
And Fleurpepper, I don't do Halloween either- I just do autumn .

Sorry just saw this, I bought mine from ebay, it doesnt have a brand name but I've checked there are quite a few different ones on there.

Witzend Sun 23-Oct-22 19:28:13

The Lovecrafts website has a lot of Halloween patterns you can download. I haven’t checked for mini pumpkins but I wouldn’t be surprised. I found a good witch pattern there a few years ago, and a brilliant bat and spider.

Hello ? Namsnanny!
It's a Halloween gift bag in the centre, I thought DGS2 could re use it when he goes out guising ( with Mummy and Daddy!)
I'll be reading to him, he's two and a half, but he loves joining in with the repetition and the rhymes.

Namsnanny Mon 24-Oct-22 23:42:29

That's such a lovely age Granmarie? everything is new and exciting for them.
I loved reading with my children, and when I ran a playgroup (as they were then).
The look on their faces when they recognised parts of the story.
I'm sure he'll love them.

Namsnanny Tue 25-Oct-22 00:02:37

Isnt he sweet?
I saw 3 blindwooden mice for sale on ebay.
He's stuck on with double sided tape for nowgrin

Grannmarie Tue 25-Oct-22 08:52:40

He's the perfect addition to your beautiful wreath, Namsnanny.

Witzend Tue 25-Oct-22 08:55:44

The perfect final touch, Namsnanny!

Your wreath is stunning Namsnanny.

Some terrific crafts on here. I’ve started to make pumpkins for my kitchen window after seeing some in a cafe.

I should be working on poppies and angels for our yarn bomb group but I’m having a little break.

Namsnanny Tue 25-Oct-22 15:06:03

Thanks Grannmarie, Witzend grin

Now for the unseen part of my craft....

Namsnanny Tue 25-Oct-22 15:22:02

Not exactly neat eh?! grin

Two wreaths are bound together to make it a little bigger.
Most of the objects are just tied on with the wool used to make them.

I have to admit, most of my makes are cobbled together blush.

The odd jumper has turned out ok, but not always grin

baubles (appropriate name given your knits smile)
Those are gorgeous. Nice and fat looking. My pumpkins on reflection were a little thin. Which suited the wreath I put them on, but I would add a few rows to the pattern to make the next ones slightly fatter and hopefully rounder.
Chances are they will end up just taller and out of shape.

Did you knit yours in the round or flat?

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Oct-22 20:31:16

Baubles I love your knitted pumpkins!

Forsythia Tue 25-Oct-22 20:40:37

You ladies are so talented. That wreath is a work of art. Fantastic.
