Thankyou everyone for your helpful suggestions. Caravansara I
do watch Rinske Douana online. She is brilliant and spends lots of time explaining how to work with different paints. I'll look again.

Art shops sell them or if you want to buy online take a look at Ken Bromley art supplies.

Take a look at this video from Rinske Douana. Use a damp brush. Controlling the amount of water on the brush is key so that the colours are blendable but remain opaque.

Hi Mizuna thank you so much for the spray suggestion.
as for the blending question-- I took a number of lessons at a college and a lot of the time we concentrated on techniques for blending acrylics. It was acknowledged as being a bit difficult as the paint dries so quickly. This is great in so many ways, but is problematic when blending the paint.

I use a Β£1 plant spray from Asda, which has a very fine mist. I'm not sure what you mean about blending acrylics because I mix them on my palette before applying them. I like to play with different effects though and have another, same, spray bottle which contains water and washing up liquid. Sometimes I spray that on to the acrylic already applied to the canvas and it makes the paint react and blend in unpredictable ways.

Also does anyone else find blending acrylics difficult?
