I remember knitting little garments for the DC and DGC using a similar pattern - is it a twist rather than a cable? Very effective.

That's a beautiful knit, purplepixie. I hope the little boy loves it. I had a similar jumper when I was about nine that my aunt knitted for me and I certainly loved that.

It also reminds me of my elder grandson when he was just a tot and had a new blue raincoat. When he was visiting his great grandma (my mum) with his parents, she suggested he take it off in the house. He clung onto it and said "I love my blue coat". I don't think it came off till bedtime 💙

The jumper is absolutely beautiful Purplepixie. I wish l could knit like that. I'm a complete novice.

PP it's beautiful he's going to love it. And bet he's parents will have a job getting it off him to wash. Love the textured pattern that will appeal to him . I have friends with autistic child ren and were very touchy feely when young .

The pattern is gorgeous what a very good knitter you are I hope your friend appreciates the work that’s gone into it.
I recently got back into knitting but only basic squares to make up cuddle blankets for dementia patients.
You could make good money selling beautiful knitwear on the likes of Etsy site.
