My Sock Dolls

I was busy just before Christmas, making sock dolls for the grandchildren, one of whom is quite grown up now. They proved popular and were fun to make. I used odd socks that were sitting in a drawer. Goodness knows what happened to their partners 🤔😁. There are plenty of 'how to' videos on YouTube if anyone fancies having a go.

What a clever idea - I’d never heard of sock dolls. Yours is lovely!

Sick monkeys, eh Ginny?! grin

Thank you all for your kind comments. I have now bought a new pair of socks with flamingos on, to make one for my daughter. She has a passion for anything flamingo 😁

They are absolutely gorgeous!

I like them - what size were the socks, though? They must be man-size or if not, that is some very intricate work!

Here's a teddy I made out of one of my DGS's socks when the other one had a huge hole in it. He loved it. Made without any pattern, just dashed it off while he was staying here.

Love that, JackyB!

I can’t help thinking of some years ago, when I finally went through the ‘odd socks’ bag, accumulated for quite a while, counted 76 IIRC, did manage to pair a few up, but all the rest went to the textile recycling.

They were mostly dh’s pretty boring ones, though, so wouldn’t have made very cuddly looking dolls anyway.

Aww so cute, JackyB

The santa sock doll I made was from a man sized sock, the other two were socks for children aged 9/10 ish. I made the heads from my trainer socks.
