I volunteer at a local historic house, stitching, embroidering and making soft furnishings.
This year we are making Christmas decorations for the first time and need enough for every room, so many hands to make many items.
We don’t need advanced skills and it’s fun to do but we are very short of volunteers. Don’t most retired women have basic sewing experience? Where should we ask for help apart from on local social media?

Local W.I, if there is one? Local Stitch and Bitch group, if there is one? U3A?

What sort of things are you making?

Some younger people are into crafting too, so perhaps local colleges, sixth forms.

Put posters up in local libraries and church halls asking for Christmas but make it clear you only want someone with sewing skills.
But why are you excluding those or knit, crochet or cross stitch. I am a member of a mixed media craft group. I cross stitch which is slow craft . But my friends mainly knit or crochet and turn out lot of work in no time.

Local college art lecturers probably have some interested students, past or present?
