Modern style knitting

I am on my second wys raglan, using rowan moordale and am going to frog that and also the last one. I want a looser neck, a modern look and a baggier style. I already know the tension and been on ravelry, bought two patterns by Heidi Kirrmaier.

Spacetime and climb every mountain

Wish me luck, this is a whole new way of knitting to me. Unknown abbreviations and so on

I have never done top down and am not comfortable with short rows

Good luck * karmalady*. I don't knit but I do crochet. I prefer making top down sweaters and cardigans as I can try them on for fit as I progress.
I recently finished a sweater made in one piece, with the front and back ribbing at either end of the work. That was something completely different to me, but I do like the end result.

Just about to start a pattern with short rows. Have been looking at videos on You tube to prepare. The garment in question is a baby jacket and you start at the left front. Here's hoping !

I'll be interested to hear how you go with the top down patterns as this is all new to me - particularly the Climb Every Mountain Karmalady? I don't usually like plain knitting I get bored with it but this would probably be an ideal pattern for using a new method.

I made lots of baby jumpers and cardigans by the top down method it really is quick and less sewing up after.
