B9exchange you could seal the edges with a craft glue or clear silicone then they would be smoother for your scarf clip.

Buy a square frame, cover board with fabric and glue in the center and hang it up… it’s beautiful!

They are lovely!
You could put them together with some other tactile things (wood, pebbles other polished stones etc) and pile them up in a shallow dish or box as an ornament on a coffee table or whatever, for people to touch, feel, rearrange and play with.

attach them to a wall at eye level... blob of hard as nails glue will do it..

Put them on a window ledge and let the sun shine through them.

Thanks Milest0ne, would be interested?

That's a lovely idea to build them into a mosaic coaster or two, I'll look at that. They are too thick to show much light through. A brooch would have been an idea, but I never wear brooches these days, they just seem to have gone out of fashion. But on thinking about it, perhaps a scarf clip, if the edges didn't snag the scarf?

You can use them as coasters. They should be robust enough ( if you don't drop them on a stone floor ). If you want anymore look on ebay. there are UK suppliers of all sizes of agate slices from 1 inch upwards to about 18 inches. and various colours. The grey and brown ones are natural colours. all the rest are dyed. Purple and green are less stable colours and have been known to bleach in the sun or wash out. If you want a reference. let me know.

Gift them to someone else, or give to a charity shop - that would not be a waste.

I’d just place on coffee table or something like that.

Do you do any mosaic crafts B9excange? These would look great set into a mosaic piece with complimentary coloured irregular shaped shards and light coloured grout.

If they are translucent prop them up on a sunny windowsill and enjoy the light.

Leave them as they are, somewhere where they can be picked up, held and admired. They are very tactile

They are beautiful. Display them in a lovely bowl?

Put them on the table or tray when you serve your guests. They would be great for bijou conversation pieces .

Coasters?

NotSpaghetti Thu 21-Nov-24 10:36:58

Would they make brooches?
I can see one on a winter coat or as a shawl pin.
Aren't they beautiful!

I sent off for these turquoise agate slices to use as pendants, but when they arrived they were too big and heavy, being about 6 cm across and too thick. Any of you wonderful crafters any idea what I could do with them? They came from abroad, so the cost of returning them would be prohibitive, but I hate to waste them?
