Just that really. Any ideas of something I could make with my late DH's ties? I can sew but nothing too fancy and had an idea that perhaps I could make something lasting out of around 60-80 ties. All ideas very welcome.

A circular cushion using the wider ends arranged like multiple clock hands.

There are lots patterns for quilts made with silk ties. Look on Pinterest or Google. DH no longer wears a tie so there are dozens in his wardrobe.

I have seen on Etsy a memory quilt which looks lovely with the ties in a sort of starburst pattern on a white background.

You could lay some flat and then weave others through then keeping it flat so you end up with a piece of usable fabric. Pin them together and sew onto a piece of firm material like cotton either by hand or machine . If you are worried about them moving you could put fabric adhesive on the backing fabric for use with silk and press onto back of the woven ties. Once dry either use as a cushion front . You can buy cushion backs with zips already in them just remember to unzip the before sewing onto the back of the ties. Or you could make a bag using 2 woven sides and making the side and bottom gusset from firm cotton .

I think there is an episode of sewing bee that they used ties in the recycle challenges you would need to Google it.

Thank you all so very much for your great ideas. I have taken so many of his belongings to different charity shops but really wanted something I could keep and treasure but didn't have any ideas, now I have, much appreciated.
