Everything except SABLE. It's the same for any creative pursuit though, don't you think?

I've just had a WITHWIT, luckily didn't get very far, so I had to do some frogging (unravelling), as I have just found out it's called.
Rip it, rip it, rip it 🐸

Well, I’ve just had a WITHWIT - just realised that last night I did nearly 8 rows of stocking stitch when it should have been all garter stitch. Luckily there are only 40 sts, it’s just for a mini Creme Egg bunny - after a plea from the Gdcs’ school last week.
But I’d already made 3 - was just away with the fairies I suppose.

Trying to knit a pair of trainers for a knitted monkey. WTHWIT. I thought the Intarsal (is that the right word?) dungarees were tricky 🧶

Goodness, I’m planning on a banana for my next ape (purely from the stash 😇) but at least I have a pattern, just £1 to download from the Lovecrafts site.

Do please post a pic of monkey in trainers when he’s finished!

I've downloaded that picture, RosieandherMaw

I might print it off and take it to my craft group - they will love it.
Although some might be puzzled as they do seem to be very productive and probably don't have any UFOs, PHDs or WITHWITs

I recently took my, amazingly large, stash of knitting wool to a charity shop. I only hope whoever buys any of it actually uses it and it doesn't end up PYC, NESTY, STABLE, or WITHWIT.

Allira Sat 22-Mar-25 14:19:55

I think your UFO could be older than mine, Witzend 😀

It's a jumper I started for myself well over 30 years ago with yarn and a pattern bought from a local department store many years ago. The store stopped selling yarn about 30 years ago and isn't even a shop any more (more's the pity).

Witzend Sat 22-Mar-25 14:07:33

That made me laugh!
I have certainly had UFOs* in the past, not to mention a WOMYAT. But no UFOs for quite a few years now.

And despite having sorted out my stash recently and told myself that for the foreseeable I was going to make ONLY what I could without ordering any more, this morning I put in a hefty order to Wool Warehouse - enough to qualify for free delivery. So possibly a STABLE situation, though I hope not!

*Part of my current stash-busting WIP is some pastel yarn left from an (unfinished) cardigan for a dd when she was about 7. She celebrated her 45th birthday a fortnight ago!

So true. Every one of them. I also like 'that' firm that sends in those bags.

Rosie51 Fri 21-Mar-25 23:11:18

Oh Allira I'm so glad I'm not alone for buying from "that" firm that sends it in those bags 🤣🤣🤣

Allira Fri 21-Mar-25 22:11:19

Probably half of them.

However, I don't have any PIGS. It's all in rather nice boxes or wicker baskets in various locations 😀

Btw - those net bags designed for vegetables can be useful for sorting stash.
I use drawstring mesh grocery bags to keep projects
Yes, probably these!

If you buy yarn from a certain firm it will be sent in these net bags, in various sizes. It's worth adding to your stash just to get more bags 😂

LadyGaGa Fri 21-Mar-25 21:48:20

Thanks Rosie, yes intarsia!

Rosie51 Fri 21-Mar-25 21:24:26

LadyGaGa I think you mean 'intarsia' smile Trainers for a monkey, now that's dedication!
I can tick quite a few.......my fabric stash is definitely SABLE, not so my yarn stash. I'm planning a drop to the local charity shops.

Most! But I only have yarn stashed for particular projects after a determined ‘use it up’ drive last year.

I use drawstring mesh grocery bags to keep projects, both WIPs and NESTYs, so can certainly give that one a big tick!

My WTHWIT is a set of farm animals that I thought would be fun for the GCn and a good use of bits and bobs. No! Very fiddly to make and they have never really been played with.

Mogsmaw Fri 21-Mar-25 19:27:37

All the others except “SABLE” . I’ll get to the bottom of stash, I’ll live to 175 !

LadyGracie Fri 21-Mar-25 19:21:31

I hate to admit that I can tick at least half of them.
But I am getting better…

RosieandherMaw Fri 21-Mar-25 19:17:16

I saw this and thought of you!

How many can you tick?
