Hi all

I’ve just finished another dog/cat blanket for Battersea. So far, over the years, I’ve knitted over 100!
This one is knitted totally with leftover yarn from my stash box.
Thank you for looking.

I go to a small knitting group on a Tuesday afternoon. They are a lovely bunch but even that doesn’t help with my complicated head.

Well done whywhywhy. What a lovely gift and it's good to hear that it helps with your depression.
Just a thought- have you considered joining a local knitting group?
We have several in our area, and are often very welcoming. Might you enjoy the company of other knitters?

Your blankets are lovely. My SIL is disabled and also knits blankets for a local dogs home. She finds this satisfying and the dogs home welcome then.

They're beautiful why, why, why. Our daughter & her husband have just adopted their second rescue dog from Battersea, they lost their first 8 weeks ago after 15 years.
Battersea is s wonderful establishment and they do great work. Well done on knitting such gorgeous blankets to comfort the sometimes traumatised dogs.

What a lovely lady you are.
If there's a pooch at the Pearly Gates ....... You're in.
All kindness spreads.
Well done.

What a lovely thing to do. Well done.

The crocheted ones are easier to wash. They are denser than the knitted ones and don't seem to cause the same problems in the washing machine. This is my experience anyway. I bought crocheted blankets for my cats, which washed easily, whereas the ones I knitted from squares seemed to be too heavy for the machine.

Goodness that's fabulous, well done indeed. I'm knitting one too for them. It's an easy pattern with cute paw prints but I am SO SLOW!

Well done whywhywhy, those cats and dogs are very fortunate to have your lovely blankets. Sorry to learn about your depression and pleased to know your knitting skills help to keep it in check. 💐

It's awful isn't it Allira? Can you ever imagine giving a dog away for free in a pub? Who knows where the poor little thing could have ended up and the life it could have had.

I'm trying to tell myself that the fact the pups were tied together might have saved them from running off and being hurt on a road, but who the hell would do such a thing?

Thank heavens for the people who found them and for the dog's home being there to look after them.

Well done, I really wish I could knit!

Thank you all so much. Knitting keeps me sane because I battle with depression. 🤗

Fantastic! You are so prolific - lucky dogs and cats! 🐶😻

How lovely. I love the little ❤️

Our rescue cat loves the blanket that came with him from Battersea cats’ home two years ago. As you can see it is well clawed but being elderly , he sleeps on it all night and most of the day. Fortunately it washes well.

That's beautiful whywhywhy. You have restored my faith in human nature as I read today about someone who abandoned four puppies on a cycle path in Bristol. Thankfully they are all at Bristol Dogs Home now being cared for. In this sometimes cruel world it's so heartening to know there are people like you doing something so positive and kind.

A fifth one was offered for free in a pub and then taken to the Dogs' Home.
They're in poor condition and the four were tied together. ☹

Poor little things, hope their lives improve now.
