Has anyone a simple knitting pattern for a jacket or bootees for a young baby please.

I know you can download lots of free knitting patterns from various sites very easily. Lovecrafts is one site I use.

Have you looked on Ravelry? You can filter patterns by “Easy”. “Free”,“Newborn” etc.

Thank you.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I always found so many new-baby patterns very fussy and old fashioned looking with lacy designs etc.

The others do exist, but are less easy to find. My mother used to have a very old pattern book (probably early WW2) with a beautifully simple little matinee jacket pattern, made by her more than once, but I never found the book after she died - I dare say it was falling to bits and she threw it out.

Etsy has patterns that are reasonably price and can be downloaded quickly.

The US site Knitty is free .
And so is Drops design ,which I think is Scandinavian .
Have you looked in your local charity shops?
I've just been in one and they have a massive box full of them.
I've just sorted their wool and there's lots.

Correction - Knitty is Canadian . It dates back some 24 years .
Drops design has a massive range of patterns and dates back 40 years .
