True - it's quite hard to predict the whole when choosing colours. I also used variegated wool which I won't do again.

I've started crocheting an extra edging on my blanket in navy, to give it new life 😁.

Am now inspired to make another one, but this time will stick to one colour per square. smile

They might look good separated by single-colour ones, but that means estimating in advance where you are going to put the patchknit ones, and when you are working with ends of balls, you can't predict which coloured bits you will have and how long they will be.

The most beautiful colours for winter. I love it.

I'll try to find my pattern. Perhaps I should revisit it, but I started it, got a bit confused then had a shoulder injury so switched to crochet.

I’m in awe of your talents. Lovely bed cover, it looks so warm and cosy.
I love your artwork too. Are you still drawing and painting?

I haven’t painted or drawn for ages.
I’m doing a sponsored “knit a Christmas jumper in December” for cancer research.

I found my pattern - once you get the hang of working diagonally - think diamond shape - you never have to sew up.

Also a pic of my blanket, I used every bit of scrap wool, hence some squares are very "bitty".

So very cheerful for drab days.

Retread youve described the process well but it was easy to lose track for me anyway.
