Indeed, Jacky - most knitters have a bag or two of " what was this for?" wool lurking somewhere.

They're nice.
Do you hide them in a shoe outside their front door?

LauraNorderr Thu 04-Dec-25 14:46:03

Very clever, what a thoughtful gift too.

DamaskRose Thu 04-Dec-25 14:43:35

They’re lovely Jacky, I can only do granny squares and a few other simple stitches!

Thank you. And, of course, they are unbreakable!

These are lovely, Jacky.
In the spirit of full disclosure.. how much of your stash did they bust?

Well, they don't use up much, of course, but now I've started I shall certainly make some more, and I am using it up for other various small projects. Thing is, I honestly can't remember what most of the wools were originally used for!

Here is the pattern I used.

Note: the crochet terms are American so for "sc" (single crochet) read double crochet.

I'm putting together little parcels for St Nicholas for my grandchildren and like last year I decided (nearly too late!) to crochet them some tree baubles. I have plenty of the white as I have unravelled an old cardigan, but hardly any of my other wool scraps are in Christmassy colours. I had to buy some more of the gold thread,

Next year I'll make them throughout the year to avoid the last minute panic!
